Linux is alright. Xubuntu turned my old laptop into something usable again with no lag. But I'mma stick to my Windows on anything with modern hardware. :D

Fallout 2 actually comes with Arena and Daggerfall as well. Though I'm not at all sure how it would work if you bought Oblivion and Fallout 2 as part of the same gift purchase, but each got redeemed by a different user...

Linux is great as it runs on older hardware and allows for a crap tonne of customisation. There's a distro out there for everyone. Right now I'm playing around with Puppy Linux.
