I bought two games earlier today and when I went to pay for them using my Bank's debit card, it gave me an error "Something went wrong, your payment has been declined by your bank" yet the 2 games I bought were still added to my library.

Anybody else having the same error or have done in the past?

Had the same issue. Bought the game, got error, still received the game. Then few hours after purchase I got email from GOG about issue they couldn't fix and how the only thing they could do is to convert corrupted purchase into GOG Funds so I can repurchase the game. Now's the interesting part: I still have the game and I got my money back, so basically I got the game for free.

Usually that's a sign that your credit card is restricted in some way. For me, I'm US based with a credit card that can only be used in the US and Canada. GOG is not US based but out of Poland. I usually get around that by using Paypal but it still gets rejected with this website while other European websites work fine.

Staff will just tell you to use a different credit card.

The games getting dropped into your account seems weird though. Never happened to me. I've always gotten the rejected error.

Consider yourself lucky maybe?

Have you checked your bank balance to see if the payment went through?

That hasn't happened to me, but on at least two separate occasions, my attempt to pay with my debit card through PayPal was declined. Both times I then paid directly with my bank account through PayPal, and both times it worked, so now it's the only way I ever buy anything from GOG. I haven't had any payment issues since.

Yeah, this just happened to me. I have the money I would have spent on the games as part of my GOG Wallet funds. Very weird. I still have both games I purchased, too.

Maybe it's a new business model from GOG. They pay us to get the games instead of us paying them. It makes sense, because to play games is a massive time investment, so they should pay us for this time.

GOG's payment processor is in Cyprus, which is a location often used for online fraud. As such, a lot of bank's and credit card companies seeing new transactions occurring through a bank in Cyprus will halt the transaction for security purposes pre-emptively to prevent potential fraud. Some card companies may call you on the phone from their security department to determine if it was a legit purchase, while some may just cockblock it and leave you with question marks floating around your head wondering what just happened.

You could try calling your bank/card company to find out from their end. If they didn't block it, it could be security measures at GOG's payment processor also as they have some haywire anti-fraud crap going on there too.

Day 2: Payment decline error - waiting on bank for confirmation.
Day 3: Same payment option from the first two days finally works - Go Figure - LOL.

Don't brag about it, they might still want the money. Download them and forget about it. ;)

I guess they fixed it, the game disappeared from my library. Good thing I didn't spend that wallet money I got from GOG.

Yep, the games removed from my library, too. Totally fair I suppose.
