Uhm, what? There`s no english word called "Centeotl"?!?
low rated
buttplug?
It seems I wasn't paying close enough attention. Both of these hints are basically translations for the password "maize" being another word for corn and "centeotl" being a god of corn, which would technically be allowed if not for the fact that part of his name literally translates to "corn"), so I think I'll just call this particular round a tie and move on to the next password. I'll see if I can insert a 6th password to make up for it.

New passwords have been handed out, the current turns/roles still apply (the round is basically being started over). ZFR goes first.

So my guess "Popcorn" was closest to the solution? Nice!

Hmmm... I thought English synonyms were fair game, and in fact legit methods to arrive at the password. Like "pretty" - "beautiful". In fact rule 3 states "No using a foreign word which translates directly into the password" (emphasis mine). In fact it works in English because if one puts a foreign translation, his partner will immediately arrive at the answer, but if one puts "beautiful", there is no telling if it was meant as a synonym, or something else.

Either way, if you want to disallow English synonyms, modify rule three so there is no ambiguity next time.

Hint for password 2: helium

"Maize" isn't actually English. It's a Spanish word, which means "corn". We just borrowed the word and stuffed it into our own language, as English has a tendency to do to other languages.

Maxvorstadt: Gas?
No, that's AFTER you eat all the corn.

...Even after vacation, my jokes still haven't gotten any better. Oy.
