this morning Aug 11, 2023 an email from n lifelock thanked me for renewing at a cost of $470. I don't even have the software on my machine. Basically my bank has refused them any payment and basically told them to get shafted! ha ha

The phony transaction occured after a $7.98 purchase from GOG. Could it be that GOG has a security leak?

Doubtful. I imagine that the email if examined closely, would be revealed rather as a phony one; used to phish for information or a bite.

So that means the scammers still have your banking information, which is still very not good for you.

They could always try again later and/or sell it to other scammers.

And I'm sure your bank never said anything to them like "get shafted." Professional employees like bankers never talk like that while on the job.

I suppose contacting the REAL company concerning this mail it would be a good move. If you don't have this particular product - that's what i would do, because it's bad for their business aswell if it's fraudulent.

I don't know if that's directed at OP, but if so, OP does NOT deserve it. OP is a victim. Period. Just like millions of others because the people that shouldn't be allowed on the internet are the phishers and scfammers, not the victims of their assholery.
