Although it is more of yearly endeavour rather than a Christmas, my story is GOG itself.

Generally I don't fit in. People for the most part ignore me. Not the GOG community though - in the 8 months that I have been active, I have been overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness shown by other posters.

I will be giving back to the community by collecting games to run a few giveaways (not of this scale) next year.

I don't have any Christmas stories that come to mind, so I went out to the local SPCA a week ago and decided to foster an abandoned kitten. They said they don't give kittens to first timers, but asked me to help foster a pregnant queen instead. I was taken aback but I went home with an adorable ginger queen named Honey and I set up a big cat tower with plenty of cushions and blankets for her in the living area. She's a voracious eater and pooper, but she's really friendly. I'm still waiting with eagerness and trepidation for the birth of her litter. Hope everything works out okay. I have the contact of another nearby foster parent who I can call when Honey goes into labor.

My charitable Christmas story... well, I'm not really sure if it was in Christmas, I think maybe it was sometime later, but anyway... Two years ago I was with a friend walking down one main street of my city when a woman approached asking us if we could buy her some bread and food for her and her children. At first we said we couldn't but after going on a little, my friend and I look at each other and we realized she wasn't asking for money but for food, and so we go back and told her we would buy her the bread and the food. My friend entered the shop while the woman asked me to wait there taking care of a few things she had in a bagpack because she had to go to look for her husband. A while later they both came and we started talking and then my friend went out of the shop and the four of us spent a little time together, hearing their story. They were so thankful that they made very happy too.

Thanks for the very generous giveaway. When I was a kid, just before school closed for Christmas, we used to exchange gifts in class in a random way. And I always always always received some stupid book that I didn't even care to open:D And I ended up giving every year's book to a friend who was so enthusiastic to receive it and he said things like "Oh it looks like a good book, it will be fun to read it" It was so annoying to see other kids receive interesting gifts. How did that change my life in a positive way? It taught me that gifts are important to a person who receives them. No one wants to get useless and irrelevant gifts. Before I buy a gift, I think a lot about the recipient, likes, dislikes, hobbies etc. I don't just go out and buy something that flashed my eye. The result is that the giftees are happy and they show it.
