And another so called 'Definitive Edition' hits the streets. Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition expands the game with a few new areas and abilities. If you already own the original version on Steam you can get the Definitive Edition there for 5$.

I don't know why we never got the original here but maybe GOG will think about getting the Definitive Edition since it is a new release?
Publisher: Microsoft Studios

There's your answer.
Ugh, I was just drooling over this when I saw it on Steam's front page. Incredible art direction. Do want.

Not without signing a deal with Microsoft first.

Find a solution for this: Microsoft Studios
Who publishes what on Steam isn't really relevant. Dust is also published by Microsoft on Steam but self-published by the Developer here.

Of course it's relevant, especially since it's only sold on Steam and the Windows Store for the time being. As for Mark of the Ninja and Dust: An Elysian Tail, not only did none of them come here day 1, but they also got DRM-Free releases elsewhere before coming here.

Oooooooo... one of my few Steam games... will have to see if it's worth the $5 to upgrade...

P.S. There's no use voting for a separate Definitive Edition entry on the wishlist and splitting the votes.

Eh, that's a game I'd surely like to play... I'll vote on the wishlist, hoping that a deal with Micrtosoft is not too far. I really cannot imagine what may hold them, now that almost every (non-Asian) publisher is on board!
I can live without some great games as oppose to Microevil slowly corrupting and destroying GOG because of it's stance on fairness.
That's been on my Steam WL for months and remains my #1 want, but a) I don't have the money, and b) I have a backlog longer than I could play in a year or more.

So I can probably wait until it comes to GOG and/or magically ends up on a 75% off sale/bundle.
so whats so definite about this edition ?
This game is fantastic. Not only does it have superb art design, music and atmosphere but I was very surprised by the well-designed pacing and balanced difficulty, I almost never felt bored or frustrated which is frankly very rare for me (even with games where you can change difficulty on the fly). It's a pity it hasn't arrived here yet but hopefully in time it will.
So, Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition is getting physical release on June 14th and apparentely it will be without any DRM and you'll get a steam key as well. There's still hope that it might appear on gog sooner or later.
