I made the mistake in thinking that I was just going to have to say what my OS was. Now I see that like numbers and words and shit are needed. Can't anything be simple any more?

NovumZ: Cogadh.

I'm thinking GOG OS; like what Valve did with steam OS more or less. So yes; based off of Linux OS (no need to start from scratch).

It could of; except that MS chose to become tempest, and gates playing a mortal god.
Steam is a giant, and even they can't get people to use their OS, GOG investing money and time in an OS would be a gigantic wasted effort. GOG is having trouble just getting a client together.

JDelekto: Gee, I suppose something like SteamOS? What about the other "linux-based" Ouya?

NovumZ: I just want some fairness In an OS that I spend my money on and be able to play games I've purchased. All this Microsoft bullshit redistributable add-ons just make my games run choppier or not run at all.
I'm surprised there isn't more Linux love in this thread! My OS runs every game I've bought for it - as long as I'm selective about what I buy :). I pick and choose exactly which libraries are installed. I can run as lean and minimalistic as I want .. and I do run a pretty minimal setup.

The price is pretty compelling too.

Well, then just download Ubuntu, or whatever flavor of Linux you prefer, change the theme to match GOG's colors and add a GOG wallpaper to it. Ta-da! Instant GOG OS. Just don't expect to be able to play most of the games you already own. Like I said, even Valve has learned the hard way, you can't just make an OS and expect it to break the Windows stranglehold on PC gaming. There well over a billion PCs running some version of Windows in the world today. No game developer is going to step away from that massive market, or even split development between that market and another tiny one, just to support the tiny fraction of a fraction of PC users that might be running yet another variation on Linux.

I know, I'm waiting for Witcher 3 on linux then it's a no brainer switch to Linux. And add to that: Cyberpunk 2077 on linux Only! hahaha

And watch CDPR sink right into a grave they dug themselves with that move? :)

Don't worry about CDPR's future, worry about Uber Windows 10!
By the time game's finished; MS had dug up 3/4 down their grave from the pattern I'm seeing.

Windows 10 on machines is increasing. Obviously Steam isn't EVERY PC gamer, but it is the majority. But you also have to take into account how many were forced updates.
