I had wondered the same, myself, but I think that the answer lies within, as well. I will happily and joyfully buy a present for someone else, while at the same time refusing to spend money on myself. I bought Year Walk for Momo, which was on her wishlist, a couple of months ago, but she refused the gift because (in part) it was on my wishlist, as well. She told me to enjoy the game and let her know how I like it. I started the game (I like it a lot!) but immediately upon her refusal, I felt guilty for buying myself a present. I was happy to spend that money on her, but not on myself. How messed up is that?
