No idea if it's specific to Galaxy or Steam would also do the same thing, but back when Witcher 3 was launched I started doing some manual backups from the whole gamesaves folder (.../My Documents/The Witcher 3/gamesaves path).
So, inside the "The Witcher 3" folder there would be a lot of copies of the "gamesaves" folder:
gamesaves-
gamesaves - Copy
gamesaves - Copy (2)
gamesaves - Copy (3)
...and so on and so forth. Not an issue to the game, since it only reads the .settings files and the default "gamesaves" folder, meaning I could rename and swap the folders on the fly and load a different set of saves and all would work seamlessly.
But earlier this week I got the warning about the storage limit for cloud saves, turns out, Galaxy backed everything up. And there's no way to manage the cloud saves.
If I delete the extra folders, Galaxy will simply try to retrieve copies again and again. Deleting it while in-game or not, makes no difference.
Another issue that crossed my mind, what if I added totally non-related files to this folder, would it be copied to cloud too? Isn't that unsafe? Food for thought.
