At first, I thought this thread was going to be about some ripoff companies named "Nwidia" and "Mikrosoft" selling the NWIDIA BeForce 1080 BTX with the Doors 10.5 operating system.

This. Spyware has nothing to do with "Intelleactual Property!".

Try copying it, bet you will get a Cease and Desist within the month.
Hasn't Nvidia had telemetry and a bunch of other garbage in their shit for awhile anyway? Bait-ish title aside this isn't major news.

I just googled "nvidia drivers", and the bottom half of the first page had a bunch of third-party sites hosting them.
Misleading title.

Are the Linux drivers affected as well?
It does put a big dent in my nVidia fanboyism. Microsoft beeing dicks is about as new as water beeing wet.

Ah but that's just distributing, try actually reverse engineering their software.
Is there any way to crack the shadowplay so you don't need to use an internet connection to make it work?

If you have an older card (like my GTX 750 Ti) you could still install an old Geforce experience. When they rolled out the forced account making stuff for Geforce experience I downloaded an older installer and installed that, then made sure it would no longer update by following some instructions other frustrated people made. I doubt you can get away with it on newer cards as they might not be compatible with old Geforce experience.
I do have concerns with software being installed that is not required to run the hardware or do what I wish. I also have trouble taking anything serious from someone that intentionally misspells the companies in question. That is about as childish as someone putting in a $ in Microsoft. It is just silly and takes away from ones point.

Spellcheck was made for people like me. I wouldn't get my name right without it.
