So many recent letdowns I'm not getting excited for anything...

I thought of that too but in some of the previous years, the Fall period was quite busy in sales (I remember one year when there was only one week between two sales) so maybe it won't be a week-long sales but 2-3 days like wednesday/thursday/friday (to include the Black Friday obviously). And in the case it's some big publisher releases then well, having your credit card ready is still relevant ;)

Hm, maybe they're waiting for the weekend sale to end before they start anything else. Tomorrow, then? >_>

Afaik, the discounts that take place during that day used to be so big, that people were trampled to death as everybody tried to reach the shelves in time before supplies were exhausted...

edit-and I also think that either a big release or abig sale is coming -otherwise this would be totally disappointing

Well, I don't know, how many times did a staff pick not show up at all and then nothing happened? I remember that once the weekend sale was delayed and then Risen 3 was released and was included in the weekend sale, but I don't remember any other occasion when something was delayed/didn't show up and then absolutely nothing happened (usually either a sale or a release take place). Most times people get disappointed in regards to this aspect afaik is when it is just a normal day (e.g Wednesdsay) and they hype themselves without a particular reason.

edit-on the other hand though, I just noticed that the weekend sale has about 14 hours to go. Usually staff picks come up before the weekend sale ends, but maybe something will happen tomorrow, after the weekend sale ends...

2016 has been a very disappointing year for me, concerning GOG launches. We've had 2K and some new EA AAAs. But, aside from that, I think 2015 was way better.

I always assumed that some new Bethesda launches by the end of the year could tip the scale. But now I'm not even sure Fallout and Oblivion will arrive this year :(

Black Friday is called that because in the past many retailers would operate at a loss during the year and make a profit during holiday season. As such, they are in the Black as opposed to the Red (as in losses).

However, I think that we all know that the delay and suspense today is because we will finally see DROIDWORKS come to GoG :-)
