Besides the ones already mentioned, I've got two. The first is, Duke Nukem Forever. Yes, its infamous more about how long it took to get made, and the hype was much lower in the final decade of its development, when all the cynism about whether it'd get released at all had settled in, but at first...

And then there's Battlecruiser 3000AD, legendary for, among other things, being the subject of the longest flamewar ever recorded on the internet and featuring the producer and lead developer himself. But there's so much more to the story of that game... *SO* much more. It is the Game of Thrones to NMS' Steamboat Willie in terms of troubled productions, and I'd encourage everyone to read up on it if they want to have a laugh. According to some players I met, the game was quite good after the final few post-release patches though... but I doubt it ever used neural networks for its AI.
