But yeah, I think I'll forego being in for an Imperial, Obsidian or Foundation Collector's item anyway, and will be in for 'just' Parkitect, as the biggest "I'd probably really like this, but I keep not quite pulling the trigger" game on my wishlist. This, too, will pass.

If you care, deeply, that's an amazing thing, and you should give it your all. Your actions will matter. You're likely to feel disillusioned after some time, as the scale of what you deeply feel must be accomplished, is bigger than you can imagine, and progress won't be visible nearly as swiftly as it should. This disillusionment is not a sign of failure. It's a sign of grasping the true scope of things.
Do not be overwhelmed by the true scope of things. It is - ultimately - irrelevant, and only determines its momentum.
Realizing that you made a difference will take longer - but if a decade or two down the road you look back with clear eyes, you should be able to see that you - and those like you - really did matter. We stand in your debt, and we will continue to try and amplify you for as long as you're giving it your all - even if we ourselves do not. Do not loathe us for this - only those who actively oppose that which must happen deserve such - and even they tend to be mostly misguided, and more deserving of pity.

Advice: In some cases nothing is more valuable then a good friend, so make sure you keep your friendship in a good state since if you don't your friend can turn your weakness of your friendship into a weapon.

As someone usually "blessed" with consistent negative luck (in a statistically significant way), I get your point. But still, can't have fates smile on you if you never look them in the face.

Let's look at it this way, if time did not run its course, we would not have music. Would you like to live in a world without music? 'Cause I sure would not. Reversible time would be a nice feature, but we're too young for that. Who knows, maybe one day, when not even our bones will be around any more, someone might figure it out.

Nobody's perfect. I would say, if you have to be an asshole or don't know any better, at least learn to apologize and own up to it, make amends when possible.

Not something I would have thought someone would pick, but a very good choice (and game). You don't have to call out your pick necessarily unless the fates decide to pick you though, and you can always reconsider if that time comes. I won't hold anyone to what they call out now, but it's nice to know what you're aiming for :P.

Advice: Get as good an education as you can because education will protect you in this life more than anything. Get a job doing what you really want to do and think you would be good at doing, not what you think you should do. Earn enough to live comfortably but don't base your life choices around money. If you can't live comfortably, look into emigrating somewhere you can. It might take some planning but there are always opportunities for the motivated. Whatever you end up doing, put the hours in early on in your career and get good at what you do. Then later you can relax knowing you are good at what you do and if something happens you can always switch jobs.

Today's life is easier, access to any information is faster BUT I really miss these old days when some self-work was needed to get the proper knowledge. And that self-earned information was much more valuable at that time. Today most of them are just worthless and everything happens too fast (every day should have much more than just 24 hours, please).

Today the thing that should be the most important to all of us is our family - remember: the rest can be changed. In this mad world we often forget about this, we are so involved in following some trivial things and later it is too late to go back.

I have learned to see other people as works in progress. There are no are fully formed human beings. My image or concept of who they are matters, but it isn't what they are. We all need to grow and learn (a lot).

If you wonder what the meaning of life is, then don't spend time searching. Give it one.

Bring some good to the world that's bigger then yourself, even just planting trees or picking up trash. Nothing will make you more satisfied with yourself/your day/your life than to know you have improved the world.

My advice to everyone is that no matter what happens, don't become disheartened. You know, as in (I can't believe no one wrote that yet) 'When life gives you lemons...'. Even if you don't like lemonade sometimes making lemonade is the only thing that's left.

I'd like to share a thought I try to use in both personal and professional life – how important are small and simple things. I deeply believe 5 minutes of talk or just a smile are worth more than great plans of improving your relationship; playing a board game or puzzle with your kids gives them more than some fancy class; a simple tool working today is worth more than amazing project planned for next year. First steps, small gestures, tiny progress and job done today is what leads to happy life and great goals in future. Not sure if it sounds reasonable, but I think it works for me :D

Yes, I know of whom you speak, but I don't think it applies to most people. There are some like that though, indeed.

That's a hard choice for some people, because the jobs they would like to do and would be good at doing won't pay enough for them to be able to live a decent life. It helps, of course if you just happen to enjoy doing well payed things.

If I've learned anything, it's that you can live life at your own pace most of times, no matter how mad it seems. Make a habit of slowing down and spending time the way you want to if things get too hectic.

You will change anyway. We all do as we age. It's an inseparable part of life.

You and everyone else on this thread are all very welcome. If small bounties can yield happiness in others, then they shall not be missed.

The title of the thread alludes to that. But we shall have no lemons nor lemonade today. In general, being disheartened is a useless thing - it helps no one, not even you. You stare down a pit and it grows ever larger. The only way to look is forward, come what may.

On this, you and I are on the same page, yet it does not work well for everyone. There are over-planners out there who do not feel at ease until they've figured everything out and just can't be bothered to live their lives and the moment, under the threat of an unplanned future. I would not like to live like that if I had a choice. And I think we all do, even said people.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I love planning. I have some plan in almost every single aspect of my life. I just think that it's easy to check how much a plan is worth by simply asking "ok, so what are the next few steps planned?". Planning gives me a comfort I'm moving right direction. The problem with planning is that plans look totally different before and after they're completed :) That's why it's important to focus on small steps and keep adjusting on the fly. And always remember that today is our battlefield, not tomorrow.

Slowing down: Oh, yes, I've done it already many times but this has disadvantage of missing something important. It would be better to find some personal assistant who will filter out only important information for me. :D

The thing is that at most cases you do not know if the information is valuable or worthless until you find its core / source - and that takes some time. :/

BTW: The day on Mars is ~40 minutes longer - not much but it could be some option. xD
