SirPrimalform: I think it's because of how easily it turned out it was too hack. I imagine they might bring it back at some point a bit more locked off. Or it could be they're doing a Disney Vault style thing of bringing it out in limited numbers every few years.
The Disney vault being a great way to piss off consumers who just want to buy an old fucking movie.

Disney, I know your product is good. I don't need a lapdance or cocktease to know that "Song of the North" is probably going to look better on a shiny optical disc rather than that crummy old VHS.
It's not a huge huge loss considering how easy it is to make a tiny Raspberry Pi 3 emulator machine. USB NES controllers aren't hard to find either. Of course there is no way to legally buy ROMs for your Raspberry Pi 3...

And I am so glad you and I are such great friends. Wow, I mean, you and I go back so far that I don't even remember. Do you? Perhaps "prince of nigeria" rings a bell? Well, now you know how to get it to me… Thanks in advance. And good to see you again even though I don't even remember us ever meeting.

Might have to do with the hack to emulate other systems using this deck.
