Ixamyakxim: So yeah - how's that for long and rambling! If you made it this far, cheers and kudos! ;)
I did! I also picked up Wasteland 2 (and like 10 other games) in Insomnia. I'm probably only 10% into it - it's pretty good so far, but didn't make the priority list for 2016 yet. ;)

Cyraxpt: ... i really have at least +100 more to play but to fully dedicate it will be these... well... maybe 3 or 4 of them... oh god...

Pardinuz: New years resolution for my backlog is very simple:
1. Eliminate girlfriend
2. Replace girlfriend with backlog
I'm envious - I hear Portugal has some of the most beautiful backlogs in the world.
Nice thread! I have many games that i want to play & replay in 2016 so i'll refrain from posting my entire backlog and just post only the length-ier games:

Divinity Original Sin: I played the normal one and i want to play the enhanced edition and see myself what changed.

Wasteland 2: I backed it and i haven't even installed it yet. Although to be honest, i was about to start it sometime during the summer but then i heard about it's enhanced version so i postponed it.

UnderRail: Just got it and i really feel like i want to start it right now, but i'm playing another fine, lengthy game right now (Lords of Xulima) so it's better not to mix these two.

Shadowrun Dragonfall: I played Returns and i liked it, then i said i could make a little break from the Shadorun world that turned out to be bigger than i thought. I should definitely get back to it.

Legend of Grimrock 2: I enjoyed the first one immensely but i haven't started the second yet, God knows why...

I guess these are the bigger games in my backlog right now. Of course there are many smaller games that i want to play in between the bigger ones and i would like to replay some of my favourites too, such as Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect and some more.

Allright and OK, this is my backlog and i kinda hope to complete it before Paradox decides to release Crusader Kings II on GOG or before starting Terraria again or before purchasing Kerbal Space Program or happening all these three together and moving the whole backlog to 2017. :P
I plan to continue the scheme I began in 2015, as it seems to have worked well for me.

At the beginning of February 2015, I reset my entire backlog (i.e. considered all games unplayed) and defined the following playing procedure:
1) Play one game at a time.
2) Do my best to finish it, usually with my regular completionist attitude.
3) If I just can't (too unappealing), move to another game, then when that one is done, attempt the aborted one again (from the beginning).
4) After two unsuccessful attempts, abandon that game.
5) Decide on the next game to play only shortly before finishing the current one.

I finished these games in 2015:
- Prince of Persia (2 weeks)
- King's Bounty: The Legend (3.5 months)
- Walking Dead: Season 1 + DLC (1 week)
- Darksiders (1.5 weeks)
- Transistor (aborted, completed on second attempt in 2 days)
- Legend of Grimrock (2.5 weeks)
- Metro 2033 Redux (1.5 weeks)
- Fantasy General (aborted after two attempts; all the battles felt the same)
- Desktop Dungeons Enhanced Edition + DLC (2.25 months)
- Walking Dead: Season 2 (4 days)
- Pool of Radiance (1.5 months)
- Crookz (currently playing, for 2 weeks already, probably not yet halfway through)

My top three for 2015 were:
- King's Bounty: The Legend
- Prince of Persia
- Crookz (probably)

I hope to maintain a rate of at least 12 games a year. That way I'll finish my backlog shortly before the sun dies.
I mainly just want to keep a 50+% completion rate.
My priority list:
Torchlight 2, I got this assigned to me in gentlemen's backlog completion club some time ago.
Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition, I left the original at Boreas boss fight which I thought was pretty unfair and deleted my game and saves in frustration.
Wasteland 2 Director's cut, it somehow didn't feel very impressive and as soon as I had some of my companions missing I left it to the backlog. There's a patch out for that bug now so I should be able to play it.

Lol - I haven't tallied up my 2015 games. If I include HOGs it was probably well over 12; if I exclude HOGs probably a few under.

I do like your notion of giving everything two tries, but that's part of the problem with my backlog size and the sheer number of games I already have installed. If I'd started that prior to installing it would probably work much better.

FWIW, I'd be through Bard's Tale: Tales of the Unknown already but I'm having the game freeze problem others have had, and don't want to install an emulator to run it. Near the end of Harkyn's castle, and I'd wager I've lost about 15% of my play hours to crashes, not to mention the time I spend running back to the inn to save, not b/c I'm worried so much about dying but because I'm hesitant to lose too much XP on a crash. :(

Only 6.25 levels left, though. But...instead of trying to wrap it up I spent tonight installing/playing Marvellous Miss Take -made it almost all the way through Chapter 2 - need one more Daisy clear to advance.

I tallied it up this morning - actually completed 15 non-HOGs plus 8 HOGs.

non-HOGs roughly in order of most->least favorite:

Dust: Elysian Tale
Trine 2
Defender's Quest
Might & Magic X
Trine Enchanted Edition
Bardbarian
Valiant Hearts: Great War
Escape Goat
Portal
Mark of the Ninja
Driftmoon
Shadowrun Returns
Puzzle Agent
Dark Chains of Satinav
PixPuzz Japan

HOGs (not ordered)
Dark Arcana: The Gift
NY Mysteries: Mafia
Lost Lands: Dark Overlord
Lost Lands: 4 Horsemen
Sea Legends: Phantasmal Light
Dreamscapes: Nightmare's Heir
Nearwood
BOC: Dorian Gray

Though I would say several of the HOGs were more in-depth and longer than say, Puzzle Agent. They're separated out here for convenience.
