Axelerator finally made it? This is definitely a nice day.

It's been only a couple years since I learned the game had several names. Only knew it as Axelerator for decades, so Axelerator it remains.

Meh, sequel should be named N.I.C.E. day 2 you!

I bought my very first 3dfx accelerator card just to play NICE 2. It was an add-on card (with a loop / pass-through cable) that sat next to the "real" graphics card. Not the original Voodoo but some cheap 3rd-party board design. Worked flawlessly though. <3

NICE 2 had a strange career mode with very bad AI balancing. The selection of competitors scaled 1:1 with your own car: The faster and more expensive your own car, the stronger the competition. Until races got nearly impossible to control and win. My winning strategy? Just don't upgrade your car. Choose one you like and feel comfortable with and stick with it till the end of the career mode. Lol.

edit: This game also has a "battle mode" where you can buy mines and rockets to blast your enemies off the track.

More good oldies is always nice!

Does the NICE games contain their expansion packs (or were they only released in Germany) ?

Handelt sich vielleicht wieder um so eine ungünstige Situation, bei der die unterschiedlichen Sprach-Versionen und die damit verbundenen Verlags-/Auswertungsrechte individuell bei den, für die jeweilige Lokalisierung verantwortlich zeichnenden Firmen liegen.

Und die Firma oder das Studio, das seinerzeit die deutsche Version angefertigt hat, sich nun aber - aus welchen Gründen auch immer - quer gestellt und keine Freigabe für die Verwendung der deutschen Version in der vorliegenden Wiederveröffentlichung erteilt hat.

Instabuy, all of them. More classic games please :P.

I remember NICE2 being a bitch to run properly on modern systems. Still own the original game CD… and of course it crashed now, two times before I even entered the race :(

But at least I own it here now.

I just installed SCREAMER 2 (BLEIFUSS 2) for the nostalgia - and it delivered!!
