ChrisGamer300: I tried Doom 2016 at a friend house but i just have way too much nostalgia to enjoy it properly and horrror isn't my cup of tea but the reception for RE2 seem to have been stellar from what i have heard.
Doom 2016 worked for me. A lot of old school fans seem to dislike it because it's more Painkiller than Doom, and I get that, but the FPS combat was just too good for me not to like it. Same with Rage 2 recently, a pretty mediocre game overall but the great FPS combat made it a good time for me.

I don't like horror either but the RE4+ formula of good shooting and System Shock style level design works for me.
