Vainamoinen: No, we desperately want men to grow out of societal/traditional gender roles as well.
Possibly even more, because that ideal of masculinity often gets people killed.
Breja: The only thing we desperately need is for people to stop obsessing over gender roles, whether it's about embracing them or growing out of them. Just stop with this daft backseat driver social engineering and let people be.
At this rate, i wonder how long it'l take before this one blows up and gets targeted, too. I've already been given an indirect offer that i can't exactly refuse, so i'm afraid I can't give a comment here, no matter how much i would argue for both sides of this. I wonder if i could get away with saying keywords like "military draft" or anything. Oh well, I guess we'll find out.
kohlrak: What about games with political ideologies, like Yooka-laylay? I know we can't exactly talk about the issues, but we should ask ourselves where "the line" is to quote someone else.
dtgreene: I don't see any political ideology in that particular game. (Then again, you *did* misspell the game's name.)
By the way, that game is currently on sale, 60% off for the base game, 70% off for the upgrade which includes the soundtrack.
(I own the game, but have yet to actually play it.)
They made a political move involving the game. they could've ignored it and nothing happened, but it became political. I'd argue that you can't avoid politics, but i gotta worry about crossing the line and maybe loosing access to my games. Seeing as i'm here for the games, not to worry about a lefty echo chamber, it seems more logical for me to keep my eyes open to see if what i heard was credible or not. If so, i'll let GOG destroy itself with the political stances.
But, hey, people complained about the last few threads being derailed, so what happened to this guy looking for friends? Can't we take this somewhere else and let it stand on it's own merit as a topic and let this guy just look for friends?
