Maighstir: It actually prioritizes my wishlist. For everyone.
It prioritizes games by Licurg's recommendations....Sacrifice for everyone!!

What are they? Did you buy them directly into your library or did you buy them as gifts? If you got them as gifts (as I did), you can always give them away or trade them.

truhlik: I would say that prioritize most non-wishlisted game:)
Does that mean GOG took notice of this and implemented it?

LeonardoCornejo: Not really, more like a walking simulator with a politically correct ending. But the player reviews are mixed to negative and the game itself is not something everyoone likes, so those who like it much likelly already own it. Specially since it is coonstantly on sale during seasonal promos.
That's wrong.

Whenever there's a D&D bundle sale where people aren't allowed to pick games, Forgotten Realms Demon Stone tops the bestseller list, because people don't generally buy it as a standalone.

In this sale, there are limited quantities of each game (refilled over time), and the randomizer prioritizes games which people don't have (while stocks last), as in, the games they didn't, and largely wouldn't, buy as standalones. This is why, for example, Supreme League sold out like whoa. Manual owned-to-giftcode conversion is negligible in comparison to people keeping what they got, otherwise GOG would've never run the sale.

Thus, other things being equal (freebies excluded), the greater the supply of mystery gift codes for a particular game, the better it's been perceived to be: they'd had it, they bought a mystery trying for a game they didn't have, but the less popular ("bad") games had sold out and they got a repeat.

Fomalhaut30: If you get something you don't want, you can always ask Support to change it into a Gift Code. I got Ascendant from my attempt, and it's not something I want, so I sent in a Support request. Got it changed easily and quickly with no fuss.

TwoHandedSword: As an easier alternative, you (and anyone else) can simply gift it to yourself in the first place. That way, you can add the game(s) that you do want into your account, then share the remainder with someone else as part of a giveaway or trade.
The thing is if you buy as a gift it won't consider whether you already own any of them.

LeonardoCornejo: I am by no means touching the mistery game. I would not like to end up stuck with a walking simulator or worse. There are a few politically aligned games I would not get even if given for free and I don't want to risk buying them randomly.
I understand, but there may also be the possibility of Vaina getting Lula: The Sexy Empire, just imagine. :D
It would be only fair since Gone Home is part of the deal while Lula and HuniePop are not. ;)

skeecher: It didn't work for me because I got Crimsonland :(

Ah well, it was worth a punt.
What's wrong with Crimsonland?
I bought it for more than 3 bucks and enjoyed it.

Although my wishlist is quite big by now, I've gotten "Gurumin" which wasn't on it, but I'm happy about it, since Judas even made it work in WINE by now.

Many games in the pool have been cheaper than $3 already though, so it's not really a good deal.

Something like this should be OS specific anyway, atm it's mostly made for Windows gamers.

I guess I've been pretty lucky, since I got Gurumin and Apotheon, which, while not being on my whishlist, I was quite interested in.

I got two "lucky" draws, so the mystery sale is over for me, since it can only go downwards from there and I could have a Slender game or worse...

Starmaker: If you buy a mystery game as a gift, as opposed to buying for yourself and converting it to a gift if you don't like what you got, the system won't even try to pick a game which isn't a repeat.
Fair enough. I was thinking of the case where you could buy multiple mystery gifts at the same time, as has been an option in previous grab bag promos.
