I grew up at a time when gaming was considered a trashy habbit and even tho gaming has grown into a big fat industry I still think of it that way. Back in the days we used to pirate everything b/c it was impossible to buy games with our pocket money. We were happy that our parents would finally allow us a new computer. So pirating became quite a habbit and we never had a bad conscience b/c gaming was trashy and everyone did it.

I think I'm a generous person. I don't hog money. In fact I don't like money at all. I'm looking forward to a full-scale sharing community where people just quit the ways of money and materialism and live together as a human family. I know this is a possibility for the future but we're not quite there yet.

By now I believe the gaming industry has grown way too big for its own good. Were talking of revenues around $90 billion this year. I know they're also investing a lot of money into games, but most of these games I don't even consider worth pirating. I know I had to support the games I'm actually playing, but then there is a reason why I rather give that money to a friend in need.

You might ask, how will they live if everyone chooses not to support them? Frankly idc how these manchilds get along. I know there is enough addicts out there who will gladly pump money into them. Every year they're whining about the pirates and still they are growing fatter and fatter. And even if the industry takes some losses. Do you really believe that they will stop making games? Maybe they will start to make better games that are not as big, but, for that reason, suck less.

If you look at the huge success of games with small budget that don't rely on a theatrical setup and lots of cutscenes, but rather allow players to create their own experience, that should give you a hint.

They are not. =) They do. =) They do a lot. =)

Its all calculated, its all about profit. The drama, with its actors and "greasing" on all levels, is calculated to be profitable. =)

They never cared about you or your opinion. =) Its all about profit. =)

You mean you actually read that whole thing!?
I am sorry about the time it has taken you to write that post. Hopefully you'll spend other time more productively. It's entirely up to you.

Thank you! Now I did it twice, second time at slow pace =)

By "they" I mean "EA and Co". I had similar childhood, but even if I could afford to buy the license - there was no seller im my country. =) Those came much later, so I purchased every single game from my childhood. =) And some more... the typical GOG syndrome =).

Edit: typo

I know Canada is a huge country, but I would imagine you are all a little embarrassed the Blue Jays put someone on the cover of their 2016 calendar than doesn't even play for them. :P

The OP is right. While all these gaming corporations are growing like hell and piracy still a rampant issue, they still complain. It doesn't take much to realize they only want the money.

Is it at least a nude calendar?

Well have you ever seen a calendar wearing clothes? That would just be silly. You wouldn't even see the dates.

Ok then, but you realize that you can't pirate nor share streaming games, right?

So if all gaming would be streaming, you can forget about your utopia where everything is shared without control and money and corporations and blaa blaa blaa,
