Does GOG still sell movies on GOG.com like Steam or has that practice stopped? It says Browse Games under the Store menu.

Second to last entry in the drop-down "Movies for Gamers" (Just above "Browse all games")
I don't think there's been any new movie in the store for a while, but you can still buy them at the Store > Movies for Gamers tab on the website.
I should have probably pointed out that I am currently using GOG Galaxy for eveything GOG.com related.
I think it's a telling thing that, after all this time of Galaxy being in open beta, nobody actually noticed that you can't buy or watch movies from the Galaxy client. That says it all really about how much demand there really was for those films in particular.

Steam doesn't seem to have fared much better. After the much vaunted release of the Mad Max movies, nothing else of note has been published on Steam. I think if they'd sold any noteworthy volumes on Steam, Warner Bros. at the very least would be scrambling to put more movies on Steam.

Movies didn't pan out correctly, but Steam recently added a ton of subbed anime from Crunchyroll.
Vote for SyFy on GOG.

Seriously I think that's what's needed to revive GOG:s movie section. Good old movies with tongue in cheek and entertainment firmly at the front. :)
I used to watch a lot of SciFi original movies, for two reasons:

1. Watch beloved actors from science-fiction shows in new roles.

2. Practice my English. Since the storylines aren't particularly complicated, I wasn't worried about missing anything important if I didn't understand some lines of dialogue.

Sometimes I was pleasantly surprised and found a more than decent movie. A lot where "so bad it is good" so at least I had some laughs, but most fall under the "so bad it's bad" category and worse. I eventually moved to greener pastures.
