I'm not sure if many people opt in to the leaderboards during the sales, but if you have, I don't think you could miss the person currently at the top of the board.

As I'm posting this, Hansen2086 currently has 1,527,720 xp from the sale, which is nearly double what the person in second position has. Of course, it's all just a bit of fun but I'm really curious as to how much they must have spent.

I'll admit that mine is pretty bad too, I have 116,930 xp and I spent around £90.

I tried working out how much they might have spent by simply multiplying mine by 13, but if that is correct, then they would have spent over £1100.

I don't know, maybe I'm completely wrong with it, but what is everyone else's thoughts?
Yes that's very impressive, must of spent a fortune

As for me

2045 Cavenagh (You) 31110 XP

All the best
3200 XP I didn't buy any games (yet)

Imagine if GOG gave that guy multiple copies of victor vran for all his XP? The XP should be used for more stuff imo. He must be buying every bundle sheesh.
Oh, I never even thought to include my current ranking.

I'm currently ranked at 147 in the leaderboards.

I don't think anyone at GoG ever thought that someone would get so much XP, but that would be crazy if they gave him an additional copy of Victor Vran for each 30,000 xp that he gained.

He'd end up with almost 50 copies of the game.

You're right though, they would need to have bought basically every single game that was included in the sale.

Simple. 1000 points = 1 USD. the same system they use in all the other point things.

Witcher 3 GOTY = $29.99, you get 29990 points.
29.99*1000=29990

1.5 million points = 1500 USD.
He spent in a more money in a few days (on games) than what most people make a month.

In the summer sales there were multiple people above the $1000, even $1500 line. IIRC, someone was above the $2000 mark.

Thanks for that.

I never actually realised the points were related to the price of the game, I thought they all just had a random number of points. Well...that makes me feel bad now that I've spent $116.

Damn though, at $2000, I don't think there would be anything left to buy.

My guess is, people like this resell on reddit (or other sites). those subreddits that sell legit stuff for really cheap once a sale ends. Buy stuff during sales and make a small profit.
spend $1500, eventually make $2000-$3000+

And you need to keep track of your $$$ if you didn't realize you spent over $100 in such a short time :P
gog does have a Wallet feature where you can set a budget so you don't blindly spend money and go too far.

Yeah, that definitely would make sense.

I'd say the whole thing seems very risky but they obviously wouldn't do it if they didn't already have success with it.

Thanks for the advice with the wallet, but I just referring to the fact that I didn't realise the £87 was the equivalent $116.

It just makes it sound like I spent more when it is converted like that.
