I just want to get sure if the gog version is the same as the steam version. I'd like to play the classic version in my native lang... It's kinda misleading that they don't even mention such things on steam. I had to refund those games.

Or maybe you should take a look at where he comes from. There is no information about the issue on the German GOG page.

Additionally, even on the English one, the "Notice: The classic mode for The Secret of Monkey Island™: Special Edition is only available in English. " is at the very bottom, below all the system requirements. Usually, it should be mentioned right above the "LucasArts and the LucasArts logo are trademarks of Lucasfilm Ltd...." blabla in the description section.

Well, it's just GOG being lazy and apparently not putting the note on other language versions of the webpage where it actually matters...in addition to that shady placement and font size practice.

As it has been said the classic version in the SE is English only both on Steam and GOG but if you want to play the classic game in German using the SE sold on GOG you should take a look at the following two links:
