Are there any modern games similar to Birthright: Gorgon's Alliance?

I'm looking for a game where there is a turn-base overview map, real-time battles, and heroes that go into dungeons (Baldur's Gate-style overview realtime/turn based/pause-play or FPP like Might and Magic, Grimoire) and get gear to get better, but also those same heroes fight in the battles.

Fantasy and Sci-Fi would be preferred, but I would check out historical games, too.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

Mount & Blade is probably as close as you're going to get. Even looking up a quick list of "similar games" has its share of caveats.

Mount and Blade was a good time.

I dream of a game in the future, I suppose. Perhaps it's just too many mixed genres to be too much of a risk.

P.S. I just learned of Gord. That will have some strategy/adventuring. Looks like it might scratch the itch for me!
