Are there any mirrors for the downloads, like torrents or a downloader app (Linux)? I am asking because the normal downloads seems capped at 1.5 MB/s which is way slower than steam/humble/origin/battlenet and so on, and it is always a pain to be forced to wait on slow downloads.

GOG uses an ADN to deliver the files, so it is possible that you were assigned to a slower server. There are at least 2 linux downloaders (gogrepo and lgogdownloader), though I'm not sure if they do support parallel downloading, which should increase your speed a bit. Moment for links to the threads.

Are you using Galaxy or browser downloads?
If there is a cap I don't think it's that low.

Galaxy doesn't yes exist for Linux, and I don't think it works very well in Wine.

Have you tried on several different internet connections (e.g. at your friend's place, workplace or something like that)?

At home I have only a 1.2Mbytes/sec connection (=10Mbit/s), but at least at my workplace I have definitely downloaded faster than 1.5Mbytes/sec, so it is not capped to 1.5 Mbytes/sec.

Occasionally though I have noticed that some GOG downloads may have been restricted to e.g. 400kbytes/sec per download, but if you are downloading several GOG files at the same time, they add up.
