Hey, GOG staffers: how are we supposed to report spam, now?
What's our option to hide spam and/or obviously troll comments, now?

The report spam button broke years ago, so I only see the removal of the minus button as a plus.

Perhaps GOG should have kept the minus button and the post hiding functionality but disconnected it from what is left of the rating system.

Agreed, good posts etc got down voted as well by bots (I presume) so it's a good thing that button is gone. There is a 'We're under attack again'-thread where you can post it if you want. :)

I don't know if the "report" - button did anything...but even if it did nothing: at least hitting the "-" hid these spam (and obvious troll) comments.
I, for one, really appreciated that feature.

Replying here as well, for visibility:

Our moderation team will be sure to take care of that! The team currently includes me, as well as

sysia_GOG
& chandra

Additionally, if you want to report a particular case, it helps greatly to just leave a comment in WE ARE UNDER ATTACK thread, as it is also being monitored regularly. :)

So - how can we now exchange all these Rep points accumulated over the years for money or games? (:
Oh look the bots still can dvote.

Indeed! :)) They've only hide a button, but it's made "a GOG way" :D – a remaining (+) button is not properly aligned and there seems to be all the code and logic remaining.

Nah. Seems to have worked. New posts in previously targetted threads no longer get low rated nearly instantly. There was probably a small window of time between orkhepaj's post and the functionality being removed, in which the bots managed to low rate it.

But since then, nothing.

Again, I'm not keen on this. There are people who need to be downvoted and hidden away, who regularly post random gibberish or wrong or otherwise bullshit in threads -- always derailing them or at least never contributing constructively. They aren't "spam", but they're bad posts. Letting "good float up" isn't sufficient (and I suspect bots will start working on that flip-side... since GOG hasn't fixed the core of "we have no clue what's going on in our forums").

The problem is in tracking or revealing who did +/- for accountability and/or restricting it to those who have an account in good standing (i.e., purchased sufficient library) to prevent bot issues.

And, frankly, Clownski (and other blues), "post in this thread for spam removal" is a poor method. "report to moderators" is kind of a critical function to have.
The OP contains a very dubious false premise, in that the OP is asserting to leave the inherently toxic "rep system" & "downvoting system" in place and therefore also leave in place all of the bullying & gangstalking that goes along with it.

Those systems need to be removed entirely, as bullying & gangstalking should never be things that are facilitated by any of GOG's systems, even if they didn't intend their systems to be used in that way. They still are being used in that way, so therefore those systems need to be 100% abolished, period.

And like with the GOG hiding the "rep counter" instead of outright deleting as they should have done and need to do, it appears GOG is repeating that exact same mistake now again too with the simply "hiding" the "downvote" button instead of really deleting it.

It, and all the systems tied to it (i.e. rep counter, the censoring of links posted by victims of downvoting bullying & gangstalking, and their posts also being made fully invisible to certain readers, etc. etc)...all of that needs to be deleted out of the coding of GOG's website.

Otherwise, the gangstalking & bullying behavior by "rep system"/ "downvote" system abusers will continue, as "Orkhepaj's" "low rated" post in this thread proves, and as no doubt my soon-to-be "low rated" post that you are now currently reading will also prove...as will all the other victims of this targeted gangstalking/bullying whose posts will also still prove, as their posts too continue to be "low rated" even though the system for doing that is "supposed" to be gone, yet isn't, because GOG is cutting corners in their efforts to get rid of it, and thus failing actually to get rid of it or to solve the problem that their efforts are supposedly attempting to address.

GOG, please stop cutting corners, and instead fix these problems fully & completely & properly, once and for all.

Hi, can you purge this thread of all the spam posts?
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_news_and_staff_threads_2021
It's one of the most useful threads but it's plagued by an exorbitant number of bots, e.g. in posts 87, 88, 89, 94, 95, 97, 99, 100, 101, 102. But there are others in the previous pages as well, easily recognizable. Thank you!
