If you haven't gotten Minecraft yet, aren't in the US, (and are tempted), best do it now. They just announced that they're going to be jacking up the prices to match USD.

For example, instead of buying it today for $28 CAD, it will soon be $35 CAD. Instead of €19.95, €23.95, $25AUD to $35AUD etc.

Some regions are staying the same.

That seems like an odd move. Still, given the number of hours I've sunk into Minecraft, I could have paid $200 for it and still have gotten a hell of a good deal.
"Minecraft losing regional prices"

Not really. They probably don't intend to regularly change prices based on what the value of the dollar is compared to all other currencies. It's just jacking up the price of the rest of the world.
Thank god I picked it up a year ago for 13 dollars at wallmart with those little redeem cards that was on sale now the price is INSANE! I feel that is a bad move :/
Wish I had got it when it was still around $10. But it seems the minecraft phase of the internet has passed now.

We'll see how often it changes. I was all enraged about the price going up and then went to XE.com... huh, look at that. I got quite the deal.

That all depends on you. I think it's officially a Good Old Game now.

2009 I believe. By now, the game has matured and expanded into every console and every device you can name (minus consoles like the PS2).

Whether the internet has died on the Minecraft phase or not, just get it. It's pure fun, what's holding you back?

THIS
I feel the best deal is to get it on Ebay. A lot of people are selling their accounts for as low as 3 bucks. You're basically well protected if you buy it with Paypal.
You could also try the free (and open source) game Minetest, which, according to many, is similar to early versions of Minecraft.

No, THIS.

Crazy amounts of stuff to do, amazingly moddable, and they just keep coming out with free updates. It's still gonna be worth it at the higher prices but wouldn't you rather have that extra money in your pocket?

You'd better be careful who you admit that to -- I'm pretty sure that's a misdemeanor in some jurisdictions.
