I spend a lot of time studying history so I know about the connection between Romania and ancient Dacians. So I googled ancient Dacian musical instruments.

Sorry for having to link to a facebook app, it's the only way to listen to their music right now.
It's an upcoming danish deathmetal band.

"Retaliation" was a killer album, along side with Type O Negatives "Slow, Deep and Hard" which continued that style before going goth metal.

Haven't been listening to too much music lately, but when I have been I've been gravitating mostly to mid '80's to early '90's metal. Recently it has been mostly Carcass "Symphonies of Sickness."

Also been listening to early Melvins. "Bullhead" is awesome, well, to me at least.

It should be awesome to anyone. Melvins rule. And you know who else rules? Bolt Thrower.

Bolt Thrower, indeed. I've only listened to 'In Battle There Is No Law' and 'Realms Of Chaos' (which was great), but didn't explore this band any further. Hell, the late '80's and early '90's... great time for metal.
Just got into a new metal band, listening to them now actually. Not sure how many of you have listened to them here, but they're called Acid Bath. They had two albums come out, one in 1994 and 1996. Heard about 3 of their songs and went to the local record store and bought both albums. The first album (When the Kite String Pops) is a mix of sludge metal and a little bit of thrash thrown in here and there. Very heavy riffs, punishing drums, piercing and howling screams, and oh my god, the use of the Wah-Wah pedal. It's not overdone, but when the guitar player uses it, it's beautiful. Dax Shepard has a great set of pipes on him, love his voice. Very heavy album. Their second album (Paegan Terrorism Tactics), is still metal but reminds me more of heavy grunge. More experimenting, like some clean vocals, acoustic songs, etc. It changes up Kite's formula, while still staying metal and awesome. :p

Songs to check out on Kite: The Blue, Jezebel, Dope Fiend (my favorite, love the 'Yeah MF'er I'm High!' line), God Machine

Songs to check out on Paegan: Paegan Love Song, Bleed Me an Ocean, Graveflower, Venus Blue.

Those are my favorite songs off the album anyway. If you're into metal, definitely check these guys out! They're amazing!
