Since this is apparently available also for PC (Steam) and GOG has MGS and Metal Gear already, has there been any hints this might be coming to GOG as well (regardless of that video review complaining about the collection)?

I don't believe Konami has announced any intentions of bringing it here, but they have released some of their games here previously. Most likely they will exhaust Steam sales first, then at some point down the road it will get released here.

Although a lot of Konami titles are missing from GOG, so maybe this will remain Steam exclusive.
From what i'm hearing, Konami did the bare minimum (Nay, less than the minimum), namely slap a few emulators in as a package with their games.

Lots of issues.
With Metal Gear Solid 2 in that collection it must mean that they resolved the issues that had them remove the game here so they could, at the very least, re-release that version here.
I guess it may have troubles getting through curation. In any case, it should have. RPG Maker hentai games look like high effort triple-A productions, compared to these crappy ports costing mere $60.

I totally forgot GOG had already started selling MGS2 but pulled it at some point. I have it too LOL.

If my current GOG version of MGS2 works ok, then I guess the only reason I'd want that collection is for MGS3, and maybe to get the English version of Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (I wonder if it is in practice the same as the fan-translated version I tried out on an MSX-emulator a very long time ago?).

I personally don't care whether the versions of those games run in 4:3 aspect ratio etc., if that is the original aspect ratio. The same as with old GOG classics, I am ready and in many cases even prefer to play the games how they were originally played, without forced widescreen modes etc. (because I am not sure if that will affect the gameplay as well etc.).

Well with the names in Metal Gear being Euphemisms I'm sure they could slip in. Come on, I'm sure Solid Snake could penetrate into the catalog with ease and everyone would enjoy it.
I wanna ask someone who has both, for MGS which one is better? The one sold on GOG, or the one in Master Collection on Steam? And what are the differences?

Don't own the master collection but apparently its just psx / ps2 isos and customised emulator(s). looks crappy for mgs1 by the screenshots.

Of the Konami releases? Probably neither. It's been covered that Konami did less than the minimum, basically packaging emulators in with the games and calling it a product.

You'd get a better experience emulating the roms yourself.
Remember, we did get the bigger Castlevania Anniversary and Contra Anniversary Collections, which were on Steam for a bit.

Seems like Konami's warmed-up to GOG - but like most, they'll just port it here when done w/ up-dating Steam-versions so they just ain't gotta deal w/ GOG's curation & update process; they can just release one final version on GOG & be done with it and move on.
