[This is a sticky post, it will be visible in every single page of this thread. It has been published in October 2020.]

Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

That being said, here you can find a post with dxenija's community poll to have better understanding of the situation: CLICK.

At the time of writing, open giveaway threads are:
- Massive Giveaways Blog (this one)
- Free (temporary) keys giveaway central topic.
- Updated Itch.io giveaways

Be nice to each other *flies away*

TurdFerguson87: Now 403'd. Uh oh!

I had sporadic access but the page kept refreshing itself before I could claim it. There was a bit about some kind of package, which wouldn't apply for another week after activation. But it's stuck now. Got a whole week though for it to be resolved, I hope.

The next one appears to be another mystery. Hopefully the same hiccup won't happen, but I also hope it is good.

Lone_Scout: Even if you happen to claim it, download speed has been limited due to heavy traffic, so be patient. You have a whole week to get that.
Does anybody know if this Bonus have a limited time frame to redeem or it will be added to GTA online account whenever one launches the game through EGS? I was wondering as this notice is still present after the giveaway ended.
"

I have trouble believing this one. The Witcher 3 has set records and was so popular it boosted the sale of the books into the international market and got the Witcher TV show going. Why would CD Projekt Red give their game away on another storefront? If they ever did give it away, you would think that they would do it here. To promote the store and bring in a bunch of new users. Otherwise I don't see how they would benefit all that much.

And they would not be above in taking it(despite how many people here deluded themselfs of CDPR/GOG being "not like other companies!")

Of course they are not like other companies, theyv'e proven that often enough already. But in the end, they ARE a company with certain responsibilities and if Epic pays them enough to justify this (rumoured!) giveaway they would be stupid and careless not to take that money.

Plus it's a 5 year old game and Cyberpunk will replace it as the goto game.

The problem with Epic giveaways is it actually puts me off buying games knowing they likely will be given away at some stage.

I still believe they would benefit more long term by doing it on a storefront they own. People who already own it on other platforms would probably make an account just for the free installers. A percentage of those would then stick around and the increased user base would allow them to bring more AAA games to GOG and thus a bigger profit from the store.

1)So far, any game that Epic was given for free was *introduced* to the store at the time of giveaway. Meaning, you couldn't bought For the King before the actual giveaway.
2) But, on the other hand, other than Darksiders 3 and My Time at Portia and just a few more, I'm not aware Epic offered any *old* release up for sale - despite being relatively new games, D3 and MTAT were only games to predate Epic and were not offered for free - but they sold those games at Epic right at the beginning. W3 wasn't sold at the beginning nor was free at the moment of offering.

I'm not sure how bulletproof is my first argument.
