JinKazaragi: "Release of a AAA game developed by an unaffiliated entity with full support for GOG Galaxy, concurrent with its
global release date. "

I'm pretty sure that means it's a new game.

Usually I agree about the comments, but this is worrying me:
"Expansion of GOG Galaxy with new features and networking technologies required by new CD PROJEKT RED
products. "

I might interpret too much into it but I still dont like the sound of it.

BKGaming: Required by CD PROJEKT RED products... that I'm betting just means that any future game that CDPR makes will require Galaxy features to be implemented in the game like achievements and such, which makes perfect sense being as they are owned by the same entity. You would wouldn't want your flagship properties to not use it if your trying to get people to use it.
If it's only achievements and similar things it would be okay, like I said I might interpret too much into it.

But since I don't know what they mean exactly (both sites are only speculation) I'm still worried, I'm not running around screaming GOG is doomed or similar overreactions, I'm just worried.

I'm worried as well, heck I'm extremely worried about gog.com.

The gog.com PC gamers seems to say just shrug it off it's ok and accept it for multiplayer.

Thankfully there are a lot of PC gamers out there who don't accept Digital Rights Management (DRM) in the multiplayer of video games either as well.

budejovice: I looked into it a year ago. It is difficult for someone from the US to buy on smaller exchanges. You need a full service brokerage (which I don't have or want - I like my cheap trades). Which means you need a lot of money.
But then you could just travel to Warsaw, buy some shares and own (part of) GOG. If you would have done this 5 years ago after the blackout of GOG.com you would have made at least 400% profit (as far as I remember).

I'm not so much worried. I mean, why worrying now when all we know is rumours? Multiplayer and DRM were always like a very close match. You will hardly find a multiplayer game now that just requires a LAN connection or similar. CDP is just no exception there.

Who except GOG did so much for DRM free gaming? They really earned our trust (until evidence is given for the contrary).

Yeah. Losing that trust would be pretty bad for GOG, since if they'll introduce DRM, towering Steam will make them hardly an attractive option.

Yeah, you're right. I forgot that AAA titles were mentioned twice and only one of them was about GOG. That doesn't sound so bad after all.

Barry_Woodward: Will they announce a new publisher on GOG?
- a new owner
- a new design
- another useless community crap
- a new sponsorship of another famous youtube dickhead
- more indie crap ( say hello to Shower With Your Dad )

I like how EA and Activision were specifically mentioned in a question, given that they haven't released any games here in some time. Hopefully that changes.

Rough English translation:
"pirek5: Hello, or ask for a presentation of the development of the platform GOG, or there are chances that in the future the game the biggest producers of EA, Activision, etc. were available on release on the site?
Peter Nielubowicz: According to the strategy, our goal is to increase the offer GOG.com for another AAA titles."

^^ There is also that :

maciekwitek: How the company defines AAA game? Is No Mans Sky is a game of AAA? Is that the issue on Gogua was in the strategy for 16 years?
Adam Kiciński: The strategy was a different game.

So, it's not no man's sky, but it could still be Kingdom come : deliverance. Could also very well be that they have some kind of deal with a big publisher to publish one of their title in exchange of the release of their own future AAA rpgs, so maybe EA, or Namco Bandai.

EDIT : Also :

maciekwitek: The strategy is not a word about the films and series on gogu. Does the company abandoned the project?
Peter Nielubowicz: We focus on what we do best, namely the distribution of games.

Films are as dead as can be, unfortunately (for me -_-).

On the drm :

_marcin_: Ladies and Gentlemen, the announcement of the publication of the new AAA game on GOG.com is associated with the change of policy on the issue of DRM? Is the state planning simultaneous availability of games with and without DRM on GOG.com?
Adam Kiciński: All the time we focus on titles without security and we have a plan in relation also announced AAA game.

It's a very rough translation, but it doesn't look like drm are coming to GOG :)

They also mention there's no plans to work on an MMO and that they will not show anything from Cyberpunk 2077 at E3. Also, when asked about movies and shows they just answered that they are focusing on what they do best, which is distribution of games. And the reason Galaxy seems to be getting fewer updates is because they are focusing on developer-side features.
Edit: Ninja'd. It's unfortunate that they are giving up on movies completely. =\ Ain't no way I'm starting a collection of streaming-only movies or subscribing to a half-dozen services, which is where the market seems to be headed.

Crosmando: Why does GOG need AAA releases? All they'll do is crowd out the smaller/indie releases.
Looking at the front page of Steam, which is the number one biggest seller of AAA games online and which accepts just about anything calling itself a game these days, I think it is very safe to say that it is practically impossible for that to happen. For every new AAA game made anywhere in the world, there are 1,000 Indie Shitware games coming along for the ride.

Even if the number of AAA games being developed was to somehow magically amplify ten-fold and every one of them embraced DRM-free and tried to sell their games on GOG.com it is not even technically possible for the Indie games to be crowded out simply based on mathematics alone. :)
epresso: Are you planning to develop a catalog of games GOG and magnify it with older titles, and slowly forget about the 90s of the last century?
Peter Nielubowicz: O did not forget :)

So, they didn't forget about old games :P

Don't think it's going to change anything on the constant influx of thread about that here, but that's still something :)

Legacy film publishers are severely sick with DRM (much worse than gaming publishers), and even GOG didn't mange to break through there. It's a pity, since no one else besides GOG even tries to fix that. I'm not using any of these DRMed video services either. No way I'm going to support it with my money.

Whaat, they're giving up on movies?! Even without AAA movies, I like that GOG were trying to carve out a niche for indies, documentaries, and geek-related movies. I'm sure there are lots of quality stuffs in those areas that aren't on GOG yet :(

They didn't really openly say they are giving up on it. But it sounds like they won't put much effort into pushing this issue.
