Hahaha, that's brutal. Makes me want to play Mafia again too, the original. AI could be pretty damn bad there too, like trying to keep those fellow crooks alive in the bloody parking garage, but it was a really fun game, and I could enjoy just driving around doing nothing at all, listening to the music.
