Ancient-Red-Dragon: No, I was not expecting to get all future versions of Macrium Reflect for free.
Rather, what I was expecting was that I would have the option to pay a one-time fee in order to buy a license which grants unlimited use of the version for which I have bought a license.
That is what they used to sell, and that was a fair deal.
But now they have changed all that, by suddenly transitioning into a scam model.
Fair enough, and I certainly wouldn't be paying them for a neutered version. Rather, what I was expecting was that I would have the option to pay a one-time fee in order to buy a license which grants unlimited use of the version for which I have bought a license.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: The free version of Macrium Reflect sucks, because it doesn't allow for incremental backups. That's why I bought a license for version 8 a long time ago, because the paid version does allow for incrementals.
Never bothered with incremental backups. I just do full backups at specific stages. So I'll have a vanilla copy and maybe one or two others. Once I have installed all the essentials, I no longer do backups, as I prefer to work with fairly pristine copies, without any clutter. That must have been in the last year, because before that I was using Paragon software. Unless maybe I scored a free full version from somewhere (Deal-Of-The-Day etc).
