Mac doesn't do drm as harsh as windows, but does that mean Mac itself is drm, I mean my old library of mac games no longer work on mac os and theres no easy way to fin-agle it to get it to work like windows or linux though linux and mac do allow very old games like those in dosbox and virtual machines, but come one virtual machines is like overkill. Is there a way to run old mac games in newer systems? It seems silly to have drm-free games for mac when the os has no drm in terms of activation, its drm by obsolescence.

That's kind of Apple's thing.
Mac DRM

Sounds like a rapper.
So, you only now realized?

Depends on how old those games are but "old" could mean they were made for an entirely different OS and very different CPUs, or both. There is no alternative to emulation or running an old computer for them. But that isnt DRM, Atari and C64 games would be DRMed too by that logic ;)

Technically there is a way to run old 68K/PowerPC programs, using Basilisk II, SheepShaver or Qemu, but its more convenient (and a lot more succesful) to just use the Win/DOS version instead.

Most games i bought back in the PowerPC days are on sale for like 2 bucks in pretty much every sale here, i just replaced the ones i really like and dont really care about the old versions anymore

For next year, if they actually drop 32bit support, we will have to see i guess... I dont really have any 32bit apps left (except for Winewrappers) but I always keep an older OS on a second drive as a backup OS (well and another one with Windows) - i could use that if i needed to run something old again.

Are there any (old) Mac-exclusive games worth having, anyway? Games where I wouldn't play a PC or Amiga version instead anyway?

I keep thinking about the same about Atari ST, sometime I'd like to be able to see and play e.g. Oids, which, I believe, was an Atari ST exclusive game from the same company as Dungeon Master (which is the forefather of games like Eye of the Beholder etc.).

Other than that, I don't generally feel I need to play or see Atari ST versions of games, the Amiga versions are generally better.

Well, there is some old shareware titles I can think of, but I'm not sure if any of them would be worth actually saving.

The most important Mac-exclusive games already have PC version, or run fine on an emulator.
Wikipedia still list some Mac-exclusive games though:

The Mac game industry always destroyed by Apple.
