And for all you DRM-free people out there, the devs are fans of DRM-free. They don't agree with DRM either. They only went with Steam because of the Early Access, they wanted a lot of beta testers to find bugs etc., they wanted some more money to really polish the game, and they've only put online validation for the Beta so that people couldn't copy the game because Kickstarter backers and EAccess people paid for the beta.
Read the following for their reasoning behind the decision.

"In Lords of Xulima, you will have to enter a key into the Demo version so you can upgrade it to the full game. Beyond that, you can use that same key again and install the full game as many times as you want, anywhere you want. We don’t believe the trade-offs of DRM limitations are worth it.

Please note that for the Beta version only, we have to reach out to your goodwill and ask that you allow us to put online « validation » measures in place. We feel that our Beta level backers deserve their exclusive access, and at the same time it would be a shame if the Beta was passed along the internet and came to be misinterpreted as our actual public Demo of the game (which is set to be released much later).

Just because I'm older doesn't mean I like getting my ass kicked in games. As far as M&M 10 is concerned. you missed out, yeah, the UBIDRM sucks major league but for some games I chose to ignore that. As far as 'grognard' is concerned, I think I've earned that after playing games for almost 40 years.

One last thing, Oldschool games are annoying, games like World of Warcraft aren't. In the end we all know who won 8).

Haha, that's my favourite part about RPGs. Coming back and completely annihilating enemies that used to be hard.

It's like going to the gym and going back to take care of the school bully, haha.

I'm an RPG OCDer. So I take very much longer to complete them. I spent like 99-100+ hours on Dragon Age Origins. Took me close to a month to complete Divinity Original Sin and Wasteland 2.

Still I think it's easily at least 70 hours for the average player.

Some enemies are not meant to be killed. There are many enemies in the starting area which you're not supposed to even engage. Doesn't mean you can't kick their ass after u gained a few levels. Still the game's combat is challenging, I'm only on old school veteran, I assume hardcore is a lot harder
There's an Orge that's been kicking my ass for the past 5 levels. Gonna kick his ass after another 2 level ups.

Finally we have quickbars for skills. I've been mouse clicking away like a maniac.

So I'm a good level 24-25 mid-game party, about 40+ hours in. I can safely say that the game's pretty combat heavy. It's been pretty light on the writing and dialogue from npcs, so don't expect too much on that front but it does have a good emphasis on the overall plot through game events and cutscenes. Sidequests don't involve too much other than fetching stuff, killing stuff and looking out for some person or corpse. The major and minor dungeons are fun to explore and they often involve many traps, hidden doors, triggers and riddles. Combat is fun, extremely challenging especially if you go against enemies you're not supposed to fight just yet. If you have RPG OCD you'll definitely grind every region till they're free of random encounters. You'll look forward to leveling up just to see what new spells and abilities you'll get next level, if you're getting any.

Damn this looks awesome, I'm going to play the hell out of this. Can't wait to spend hours in Character creation too trying different party builds
