Hi,
I'm looking for a specific pirate game. It is not Pirates! nor Port Royale 1-3. It is old, but newer than the original Pirates. It has a cartooney style. Most iconic is that you fight sea battles in a FIRST PERSON view, seeing the ships hand rails and stuff. You also fire your guns yourself. If you look to the right and fire, it fires that broadside. You have to buy arms for your crew and there are 3 kinds of crew: sailors, gunners and fighters. During ship combat, you have a display of the enemy ship/ships and the more damaged they are, the more of the ship becomes transparent on the display. You can target hull, deck and sails. You can also take along several friendly ships and the enemy can too. Strategy map-wise, it's close to pirates and even more so Port Royale.
Concerning the 1st Person perspective: what I mean is that you are not a guy on the ship, you are the ship. You don't run around either. You don't have a "character" you control. You move through towns by clicking on a door or a passage and getting the next screen.

Does that combination ring a bell with anyone? I thought it was Port Royale 2, or even 1, but the game I mean never had "rendered" 3D graphics.

I would be grateful for hints.

"Pirates of the Carribean" 2003 PC game? In this game did you go ashore a lot?
It was drawn. Much older than 2003. And you didn't control a character. And on land you only had screens. No character control, more like an early adventure game (minus rubbing stuff against other stuff).
1st person sea battles like in Assassin's Creed but 15 years older.
Sea Legends? gameplay video
YES!!! That's it! Awesome. Best sea battles EVAAA! Thanks sooo much. Glory of friendly people on the internet. I looked for ideas on the net but without "human" search engines, I would probably never have found it. Again, thanks a lot!
Cool, here's the wishlist entry for it:
