Bookwyrm627: Total non sequitur. What does moldy soup have to do with anything else that has been said in this thread so far?

hedwards: I'm a veterinarianitarian. I only eat non-veterinarian people.

Bookwyrm627: At least the pets will continue to have doctors.

Gnostic: After all this I think that the OP would find studying the mentality of Gamers more interesting than Dads and boys

Bookwyrm627: The actual experiment is to propose a game, then see how people respond on a gaming forum. Experiment in progress!

Narakir: ...especially when it devolve into another SJW/GG skirmish.

Bookwyrm627: This comment is the first reference to GG I've seen in here. Person A mocking Person B's ideas on how society should work does not mean Person A is even aware of GG, much less identifies with it.
And here we go with labels. Yay corporations for yet another division in our society.
Oh well, my son is 22 now, hehe. Atleast he now has a job. Next step, get him more independent and out of the house, like that will ever happen. He is mildly autistic, getting him to drive (shudder), glad the wife will teach him. I will have to teach him how to back up properly though.

kristen_b: Are you a gamer with sons age 11-16? We need your help designing a RPC for dads and sons to play together.

We are a team of psychologists and game designers with the non-profit Committee for Children to find ways for fathers and sons to work on socioemotional puzzles in commercial video games.

We need father-son teams willing to spend about an hour testing games and chatting with us about your experiences. You can participate from your home--all you ned is a PC with an Internet connection, Firefox or IE, and Skype or Google Hangouts installed.

We're ready when you are! We'll be scheduling testing sessions throughout October, but please let us know if you're interested in playing this week.

Interested? Questions? Contact Kristen at kristen.gametest at gmail.com or on Skype (kristen.gametest); please include your names and your child's age in your message.

Thanks!

dtgreene: Why only fathers and sons, and not mothers and daughters? Or, for that matter, why not those with non-binary identities?
because this current generation is all Mothers and daughters. No rights for fathers and so on.
avatar
Sarisio: That parents and their children have high chances to like entirely different game genres? Such "data" makes the whole research redundant.
In the same way that medical research is redundant because people are healthy most of the time? Or that the LGBT community should be completely ignored because the majority of people are straight?

avatar
Sarisio: And Doom has infinitely less than zero to do with gender, and it didn't have much violence (in comparison to our TV? ha, nowhere near close). I wouldn't say Doom was quite simple either.
At this point it's hard for me to tell if you're delusional or just a great troll. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Anyway, one final thing, just because I wanted to make this comparison all along and never got to it:

If someone did research about Twilight and aimed it at teenage girls, I would see no point in arguing with that, even though I, a middle-ages guy, enjoyed the movies. The way I see it, teenage girls are a completely valid target audience for this project, and for the books/movies. Do you disagree?

No problem :-)

Narakir: I love when people gets downvoted and insulted for just asking a question and then people wonder why this forum is going down and needs moderation.
Because someone with a clear agenda asks a question designed to derail the thread does not mean it's a case of bullying, ffs.
