Yes, but some of us use non-Debian-based distros too, and as for integration, I've always preferred to simply click on an desktop icon, rather than having the game intertwine itself with the rest of the system -- oh, and the fact that there are a number of DOSBox games that aren't yet covered by your scripts.

Uninstallation's easy as well -- just delete the game folder :-)

Well, my first distro (after SLS) was Slackware, so I guess doing stuff manually at times still comes quite naturally -- at least I no longer have to compile everything I want to install!

(Forgot to mention that my original post was supposed to be a reply to the query about Windows DOSBox games, but being late at night, at the time, for some reason I just posted instead of hitting "Reply")

I meant if there are two separate files that have to be downloaded and then installed.

Just put everything in a directory (all installer files + the scripts), then run the ./play.it script from a console. If all the needed files are in the same directory, the script won’t ask you to give any path.

If you like to do everything by hand, you won’t find a lot of interest in using the ./play.it scripts… yet!
But you might have some fun trying to write one ;)

On this topic, I’m looking for help to add new supported output formats (in addition to .deb), and Amadren is already working on Arch support. The ./play.it scripts are maintained in a git repository:

That's interesting -- not sure how I can help at present, but if no-one does it first, I might get round to checking out the RPM package structure. Never built one of those before, so it would be a bit of a learning experience too. :-)

Not really sure if you'd want to bother with Slackware -- there's probably not enough of us old-school users to warrant it! :-P

Is there a chance you could make a script for Banished. I tried to get it running again under Wine and Playonlinux but both don't work quite right.

Thank you for this but unfortunately I get the same Wine 64bit issue as if I install it myself under Wine. I guess I will wait for the Linux port coming in a month or two.

Feel free to ask for help about this in the thread I opened in the Banished forum, there is no real need to wait for the native Linux version ;)
Or you might want to give a try to the 32-bit version, this one can be installed on a 64-bit OS too.
