The fact is Linko made some bad tweets and may (we don't even know for certain) have been fired for it, if not he presumably resigned because of the response he received.
Either way he brought it on himself through his own actions. Whether his tweets (and there were more than one with the same 'target') were intended to be offensive or just misjudged we'll probably never know but after causing a number of negative PR situations for GOG there really was no other way it was going to go.
As to Fables, she kinda sucked as a Community Manager. She let the "alt-right Nazi, orange man bad" brigade close every political thread they disliked while she let these fools run rampant. She promised to look into fixing the de-repping problem and accomplished nothing. No one said anything, because she really wasn't very good at her job.
Linko, on the other hand, had this place looking pretty nice for a change.
As to you and others trying to claim Linko kept causing PR disasters, you are really stretching the truth.
The PC Master Race debacle from Dec 2017 predated Linko, not to mention that IS the name of the group and that this group has nothing to do with white supremacy at all. This was GoGs first mistake. They caved over something that clearly was not wrong at all. It's like saying the person who created hard drives supports slavery because he used the terms Master and Slave. This controversy was complete bs and didn't involve Linko at all.
The next PR "problem" was the "Did you just assume our gender" tweet in response to someone tweeting in all caps "I WANT MORE GUYS". This came from the Cyberpunk 2077 account, not GoG.com and very probably had nothing at all to do with Linko at all.
Or how about the Postal 2: Paradise Lost tweet? The only thing the offenditrons complained about is the video clip straight from the game. Do you know whether Linko picked that clip? The tweet itself wasn't offensive at all. And its pretty clear these people were going to complain about any advertising of that game the same way they went after Kingdom Come.
So for all you jerks claiming Linko did such a terrible job and was a repeat offender. You need to get your darn facts straight or you all start looking like idiots.
Hijacking a hashtag, is the only action that is even marginally offensive. But the content of the Tweet wasn't at all. Should that be enough for someone to be fired? I sure see a lot of "PR people" not getting fired for worse when they write articles calling gamers "entitled" "Basement dwelling neckbeards" and all sorts of other names. Not a single one of them ever gets fired, so why should a Community Manager over one problematic tweet who seemed to be doing the best job on the forums anyone has seen yet?
I'll repeat it again. I hope each and every one of you who thinks Linko "deserved it" gets fired from your jobs for an innocent mistake. Then you will learn what it feels like. People make mistakes. Linko didn't make "tons of repeated" mistakes. That's a completely false narrative. You people keep buying into the false statements of the hate mob. Some of you people are the least compassionate people I have ever seen in my life.
