sanscript: In these days there's only certain places you might find the whole collection, sadly... but yes, would absolutely be thrilled if it came to GOG :D

You can still get Keen Dreams on Switch, courtesy of Lone Wolf Technology, so I have no idea what's going on over on Steam. If it did come out on Steam through Night Dive after the first distributor got banned, it might be a case of Steam nuking it for ban evasion.

Crosmando: Wasn't the source port of Keen released semi-recently or am I remembering it wrong?
The source code for Keen Dreams, AKA Commander Keen 7, was released some years ago. So far Reflection Keen is the only available source port I know of for any of the Commander Keen games.

From http://clonekeenplus.sourceforge.net/:

Keen 1-6 and Dreams support
Last time I checked Commander Genius worked great with these games, including mods like Keen 7-9 (fan made).

To me Keen Dreams, is more like Commander Keen 3.5! Great games nonetheless!

I'm still disappointed that the source code release for the other games was stopped after Mike Rubits spent a lot of time cleaning everything up.

CloneKeen/Commander Genius are not source ports, they are engine/interpreter recreations.

The Commander Keen games had strange numbering to me. I always felt that the entirety of "Invasion of the Vorticons" should have been "Commander Keen 1".

It's a open source clone, yes.
https://gitlab.com/Dringgstein/Commander-Genius/blob/master/README.in:

Commander Genius is an open-source clone of Commander Keen (1-6, Dreams) which
allows you to play these episodes and some of the mods made for them.
Yes, it does interpretations.

What does Commander Genius do then? Interpreting those games on modern systems, that's all basically.
And you're right, since it's not based the original sources it's not technically correct to use 'port or 'source port'. Just like it's not technically correct to use emulator on Wine f.ex. :)

I see that people are voting and leaving comments, I'm so proud. With a bit of luck, maybe GOG will take notice, and finally bring this amazing series on GOG, where it deserves to be.
Ugh, another kick in the pants!!!

;)
Commander Keen Collection is currently on Steam Sale! Get it here, if you dont own it already!
