darktjm: I guess I can agree with the first to a lesser extent, and the second to a greater extent if there is still a spam reporting facility. Downvoting does not add to the discussion. I don't downvote (except spam) for that reason. I do upvote rather than cluttering the forum with "I agree" posts. There is no need to add any more.

darktjm: Nice of you to ignore potential customers, press, and other people who might have useful things to say,. Gog has 3 groups: employees, devs/publishers, and everyone else. Everything you lump under "etc" is users. Don't reply with "GOG needs to create more groups" because it's not possible to classify some people (in particular, potential customers or people who want to discuss a game they own elsewhere that doesn't have a forum).

As to "duplicate" accounts: that's an entirely separate issue for gog to decide on. In general, I prefer a more inclusive policy, even though I have no need or desire for multiple accounts myself. One thing to keep in mind is that people can create more email addresses pretty easily, so limiting to one gog account per email is not sufficient.

dtgreene: When you do it to someone who:
* Has already declined friend request from you
* Who has blocked you in chat

And when you do it repeatedly, then yes, it is harassment at that point.

richlind33: You think it might be possible for GOG to delete accounts that aren't used for buying games?

Since you haven't followed through on getting rid of the rep system, getting rid of duplicate accounts would help to achieve a modicum of fairness.

GameRager: I think 1 alt is fair as a backup in case one needs it for some reason(loss of access perhaps)....others should be cut off, though, if they have no bought games.

darktjm: I strongly disagree with this proposal. I want devs, publishers, staff, potential customers, potential publishers/devs, press, etc. to be able to post freely on the forum if they have an account and have something useful to say (and the latter can't be enforced even for users who do buy games).

I'd rather have the "duplicate accounts" than poorly thought out arbitrary account holder restrictions. How do you detect duplicates, anyway? I can see legitimate uses (although very few) for multiple accounts on a single email address, and definitely do not want site blocking, allowing 21 fake/spam email accounts to block access for 1 legitimate user on the same server.

richlind33: I'm fine with that as long as the site admin approves.

GameRager: Afaik they silently support it as some other users seemingly have alts(some are changed alts of their primary names) already for such purposes.
