scottvf: I solved the problem!!!
For some reason I was thinking if no one else was having this problem, what do I have different than most people? Since I have my computer in the living room and use it for a HTPC, I have a Airmouse that I use (Aerb 2.4G Mini Wireless Keyboard Mouse ). So I disconnected it and put in a cordless mouse and keyboard and now it works.

Don't know why that would crash the program, but it did.

JudasIscariot: Does that mouse use any sort of software suite that runs in the background?
This is quickly becoming a running joke in this thread, but is it perhaps a BadBlocker?

It's not really a joke. That game shouldn't be played by anyone.

I am asking because I've seen games get blocked (King of Dragon Pass comes to mind...) by various software suites for mobile phones or mice & keyboards or even Chrome itself.

Nope, I just plugged in the usb transmitter (like logitec's) and it acted like a mouse and keyboard. Windows did the rest. It's the 3rd one from the top in this review. http://www.htpcbeginner.com/wireless-htpc-keyboard-mouse-options-2015/

Found this one too http://www.htpcbeginner.com/aerb-2-4g-review/

the game must be conflicting with the windows drivers. I just unplugged the usb dongle and the game worked

When I was in college there was a busty young woman in a LSL shirt handing out demos of this game. I took one. After some weeks I was like "oh, let me try this," installed it, played for about 5 minutes and was like "what tf? seriously? this is a game they're selling and promoting?!"
I played the first one on my apple IIe computer. That was my first computer I bought back in 1984. I still have the computer stored away in a closet and it still works. :)
