Hello!

The underdog of CCGs, and the one I missed out on. Started in '95, and it looks like it's still going strong. I'd like to try it, but I don't really have the time and money to put in to learning and practicing another CCG (I already play MTG). I do have some questions though:


1. What was it like in the beginning?

2. Has the game changed much over the years?

3. Is there a time period that is generally considered to be a golden age for the game?

4. How does the game compare to MTG, or other CCGs?

5. Are there any other points you would like to add?

Well, it’s a living card game, not a CCG. You buy fixed packs, so there isn’t the rare cards to find and such like. Same concept for lord of the rings lcg. That is a fairly large difference. I haven’t played this one specifically, though I have played other lcg games.

I only dabbled in L5R for a few years, but it's not "still going strong". A few years ago the L5R CCG was cancelled, and replaced a few months later by an LCG with completely different mechanics. They also reverted the storyline to approximately the same place as it was when the CCG started back in '95.
