Breja: Well, that's what Trek is all about - bringing people together despite their differences ;) And Trek was actually pretty lucky in games - Away Team, Elite Force, Armada (the sequel was kinda meh though), Bridge Commander, and plenty others I had no personal experience with, but heard good things about and would love to play, like Klingon Honor Guard and the aforementioned Final Unity and Borg.

And, since I mentioned it, The Fallen actually turned out to be quite fun, even though the story is rubbish. If only it had a better script it could have been something to behold. Still, for a 15 year old game it holds up ok, and back in 2000 it must have been really something.

drealmer7: Absolutely exactly what Star Trek is all about. Good stuff. That's a bit disappointing to hear about The Fallen, though. I figured it would be the cream of the crop of all Star Trek games because of when it was made+the content surrounding it (the writing to me in DS9 is great, I simply figured they carried that over to a video game so they could expand on some stuff they couldn't do in the show and flesh out Cisco some more. Hrrrmph, well, maybe I'll see it differently than you and absolutely think it's great!)
Yeah, I didn't think the story wasn't complete rubbish, but wasn't stellar either. My main issue with it was the fact they were able to get all the cast members to voice themselves EXCEPT Sisko (Avery Brooks). For me, every time the voice actor they hired to play Sisko spoke it was like nails on a chalkboard.

I did like the fact that you had 3 different playable characters and each one had an individual storyline that was within the arc of the overall plot.

If I recall, DS9 The Fallen didn't do so well on the market, though I do remember one of the map creators on the original development team did come out with an extra mod or map pack on his own website a long time ago.
I obtained for free from my work place the retail versions of:

The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth
The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth II
The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II - The Rise of the Witch-King

i would have paid good money for them, but since someone wanted to give them out for free and no one else seemed interested... I think this was 1½-2 years ago? I was quite overjoyed, I had been actually looking for those games.

Before that, a few years ago, I bought Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri from a flea market for a couple of euros. I had had the retail version before but foolishly sold it away, so I wanted to re-buy the game. Anyway, GOG now had this game too...

Before that I bought Rise of Nations Gold and Rise of Legends second-hand, but that was a awhile ago, and Rise of Nations has unfortunately become one of my hated games (the 90 minute time limit for winning battles against computer AI is just STUPID!).

Other than those, I'm not really looking for more retail games, especially as now we know the SecuROM and SafeDisc retail games have issues on Windows 10 (and also on earlier versions without enabling the service), so such retail games are kind of a dead end. Plus, I feel more and more new PCs won't actually even have a DVD or BlueRay drive necessarily, except as an external USB device. It would have to be something quite rare and obscure not available about anywhere.

I hqve occasionally thought about buying some PS2 games (e.g. in the God of War series), but resisted so far. I think I have enough of PS2 games already, and who knows how long my old fat PS2 unit will still work, and whether those games work fine e.g. PS2 emulators (or would one have to use cracked ISO versions with them anyway).

Ghostbreed: My last two purchases of old games were yesterday, these were Kiss: Psycho Circus: The Nightmare Child and American Mcgee's Alice. Both were bought on eBay.
Nice score, I think I remember you ordering them. Watch out for the Jabberwock! O_o

Last one I bought would have been Dragon Age: Origins. Found it in a second hand store for $5. Score!

Actually don't think it's that great, I'd rather be playing Neverwinter Nights in all honesty.

Is that one censored? They added a filter to the executions if I remember right. I was blessed to have played the uncensored version. Numerous times.

Most recently, well I brought 150 XBox360 games, and 90 PS3 games, just under £1 a pop. Life is great sitting behind the fanboy wave and getting things 5 or 6 years down the line :o)
Only another 5 years and will start picking up XBone games for next to nothing.
I bought the Command and Conquer Ultimate Edition last week.
Star Craft: Brood War Battle Chest - Battle Net cd-key, sadly there are no one online :(
Damn I can't remember for sure. Not on gog? What about steam? Last one on steam for me was Terror from the Deep, which I've almost finished. Currently taking a break from reaction training my aquanauts.

As for physical copies, I think the last one might have been Starcraft + Broodwar I saw in a store once, or perhaps a Fallout compilation consisting of F1,F2 & tactics
Can't remember really. Maybe the Total war collection or the First Decade C&C collection ... Its a couple of years since I bought my last physical media.

Surely Warcraft 3 fits in this area. Got the battlechest and all.

Honestly, I've been so taken by WC3 I'm finding it difficult to enjoy any strategy game today because of the expectations are so high. I don't even think WC4 will be as good... and it's not even a thing yet.

WC3 is by far and large my all time favorite rts, but there are other gems out there for me as well in the rts genre with a similar playstyle, notably Dawn of War (up to and not exceeding Dark Crusade) and Battle for Middle Earth. Well, at least they're similar compared to some other gems like Total War and Homeworld.

F4LL0UT: Great catch! I absolutely love this game. Still play it once in a while and enjoy the shit out of it every single time.
Then perhaps you know some good tweaks I could use when I get it?
1920x1080 resolution for example. 1280x1024 works just fine though.
