Hi,

I played LOL1 as a kid (and again as an adult) and loved it but for some reason I've never got round to playing LOL2.

Now I'm considering doing LOL2 on my Youtube channel but ideally I'd like to play it for the first time on my channel, maybe I could have a quick look at what it looks like etc but I certainly wouldnt wanna complete it myself and then go and complete it again straight away for my channel.

I feel like it's good anyway to play a game fresh on the channel cos then I'm experiencing it for the first time like others may be and my reactions to thing that happen will be more genuine/my first time of seeing it. There comes the problem though, I don't wanna start a long series and commit to finishing a game only to find out a couple of hours in that it's shit lol.

So basically I'm asking what people think of LOL2, is it better than 1? Is it very similar so that if you like 1 youll probably like 2?

I loved the first Lands of Lore. And not for nostalgic reasons - I didn't know it at all before getting it here on GOG. It's still awesome - the high fantasy adventure feel of the whole thing, the easy to learn mechanics, the huge world - everything about it was a blast. Plus it has Patrick Stewart, so basically 12/10, game of the year, all years. So I couldn't go into the sequel with more positive attitude.

I played it for maybe two hours. It feels nothing like the original. It doesn't look like it, it doesn't play like it. Maybe it get's significantly better later on, but after those couple of hours I was just bored, it felt tedious. Compared to the blast that I was having with the first one it was like hitting a brick wall at 200 mph. No, scratch that. It was like hitting The Source Wall at Warp 9.
it's a very different game, more like an adventure game with weird combat stuff :D

but I think it's fairly entertaining though, the story is fun.

I'll be honest, you haven't sold it to me lol.

But nah, thanks for the honest review, it sounds very disappointing
