yogsloth: User "Jimmke" took every game in my giveway and posted nothing.

Searching his username turns up hits only in the ninja and giveaway threads, with an already negative rep.

Sachys: contact support - they may remove them from his account before he has a chance to d/l
Can they do that? I mean, although it was encrypted, it was a code drop. That's the danger of code-dropping - you have no control over whether a scumbag swoops in and takes it.

Exactly .
I'm just curious - why users with punctuation in their names are considered to be scammers?
I'm one of such users (that is with puntuaction in name, not scammer!) and so far it never appeared in my mind that there could be anything wrong with it. To be honest I recently asked support for change my name, but I would be happy to understand the topic :)

If I understand things correctly, adding punctuation marks can make it difficult to find someone's name in the already bad GOG's search feature.

Grargar:
also with offsite searches.

in short: having punctuation doesnt make you a scammer, but it can make you an unknown quantity, and if you're gifting to the community or trading, thats something you dont want

as to "Jimmke"

Thanks for explanation - now I understand this. By the way - this search engine is really sucking.
It's funny that he added a normal post only in advancedhero's thread, another "strange" user..

It will help if you have the receipt stored.

Maybe this is also a case where people should be a lot more careful about who they let get their games. No offense to the nice gesture from you, yog, but most people cannot be trusted.
Any way to be removed from the list? Probation period?

Agreed. This is why I (and other people around here) stopped doing open code drops. Recently I also have been using requirements in my giveaways such as a significant forum presence outside of giveaway/gift request threads.

As for Open This Thread, well I like how Blarth handled fehag: (another guy who spends almost all his time in that thread)

If we use such measures, a lot of the leeching around here will stop. It really is that simple.

I tried to trade gifted games without thinking, I gave one of the codes back and have one to someone who wanted it.

Also a part of the reason we've made it an eligability factor for TBBBBOB that you dont do / partake / recieve or redeem in open code drops (and threads known for it)... something that a bunch of people have ignored.
