A legendary actor (20000 leagues under the sea, Ulysses, Spartacus...).
R.I.P. Kirk:(
That is a very sad news, indeed ...But his movies will be watched and he will be admired until the world ends..
RIP
It is sad news, but I think that he had an interesting and long life

I am a pretty spiritual person (this happened around 2009, but took years to complete the journey to what I believe now, until 2014), so I think someone living to 103 is a reason to celebrate. Of course, also it is sad that he is gone, but for him - he is young again on the other side, without ailments. So we should also be happy for him, grateful, celebrating his life work. But of course, that is my belief. Not imposing it. Just explaining why I think we should celebrate his life rather than morun his death.

Here is a tribute from prior to his death. So I hope it is appropriate, but looks so at a first look.

Am I the only one who smiles when I hear about someone dying at/past age 100? Not, of course, over their death but in the amazing luck/choices that got them to 100.

In a quick little search of what % of the population makes it to 100 I read that 0.0173% of Americans live to 100. Yea... POINT ZERO TWO if we round up.

Congratulations Kirk & RIP!
No, I am dead!
Very sad news, though I guess it's more of a wonder he lived so long.

Probably my favorite movie of his is Seven Days in May. It seems to be a largly forgotten one today, overshadowed by "bigger" movies like Spartacus, but it's a truly magnificent, superbly acted political thriller. Hasn't aged a day, really, it's still as suspensfull as it must have been in 1964. Also, interestingly for us nerds, it served as basis for a two-part Star Trek DS9 episode Homefront/Paradise Lost.
103 years old, what a beast! RIP Kirk Douglas.

Hear hear. I can't be sad for a man's death who led such a long and full life. He had a good one, and all things must end. I hope if there is an afterlife, that he is rewarded and can rest. His worldly journey is over.
103 years old, in the land of burgers and chili cheese fries! There´s nothing to complain about. Ghost-five!
To be honest, I didn't even know he was still alive. So many people seem to kick the bucket early that this kind of surprised me. *shrug*
Well, it was ought to happen for some time now. Not only that he lived long I think he also lived his life to the fullest!
I'm curious if Kirk managed to beat some record, like maybe the oldest actor ever.
His legacy will never die, what a legend! RIP Mr. Douglas.
Thinking about some of his roles and the warm happy character he played. That wasn't acting. That must've been himself being himself.

Some articles said he had to deal with a stroke for the past 20 years. Disabling but he had every reason to keep going.

Fun reading about him and Burt Lancaster.
