Just a plea for GOg management to consider. Keep games in GOG free of censorship as much as you can. Pandering to this or that pressure group bites you in the rear part because they willl always want more. GOG games, proudly DRM free and censorship free. Thanks for what you do for games and people who love games.
Let me remind you the "many gamers"-incident... ;)

In reality, GOG would rather deny a game to be released here internally and call it too "niche", rather than listening to us fans about censorship. And it's not GOG (usually) who pander to this maniacal "twitter" flock - that's mainly a problem with the developers who give in.

GOG is just a digital distributor of games just like Epic, Zoom, Steam and others (albeit a very blue one).
Excuse me but just to clarify : When video shops (digital or physical) have their own separate XXX section for porn movies, you consider this "censorship" ?
This is what I don't like here.
Somebody read someone else demanding "censoring" something (here, I can only assume it's about the "Hide porngames..." - thread, though I didn't read all the comments there), and decides to create a thread, which will - inevitably - lead to rumours about "GOG censoring games!11!!1!!" in the future.

Instead of keeping it cool, some people need to dramatize EVERYTHING.
I actually on the side of hiding/removing porn games in GOG, because they're basically unhealthy for our community, so they need to be hidden. And providing those is one of Steam's 'sin' or 'mistake' imo.
But, for other censorship, i.e. what happened to Fallout 1 & 2 here, I'm standing against them, because we do need to get whole experience of every video games provided.
Censorship has its place ... not that I always agree with it.

I'd rather have a slightly modified game here, than not have that game here at all, as can be the case for those of us who live in some countries - Australia, Germany etc.

Unless we are talking about censoring things like Rape for instance, then I would much prefer that an Adult Only patch is also provided to remove the censoring for those who wish that.

And you should decide what is "unhealthy" for others? Don't mirror your personal view about what is unhealthy or appropriate onto others, unless you want to tear down all modern progress surrounding freedom.

Besides, the benign 18+ filter is enough (but stupidly simple to go around, even on Steam you can just choose a very low year to get past it). It's just as annoying as these idiotic cookie-warnings the EU parliament pushed forth.

In other words, censorship is bad unless I agree with it. Hmm, wonder what that leads to...

Umm... Okay. Some people may like porn games, and I'm personally against them.
So, for that case, I agree with adult only patch for porn games, as Timboli said before

Or make the existing filter harder to pass

Yep, that thread was twisted out of all proportion for what was asked of GOG in it ... just a simple hide option, which would have no impact on those who never used it. It should have stayed just focused on that, but we got folk on both sides of the fence jumping on their protest bandwagon and being either pro porn or anti-porn.

Everyone has rights, even those who don't wish to see porn or erotic material. The OP of that thread did not ask for removal of such material, just an option for those like himself who did not want to see such. A perfectly reasonable request.

I've seen several threads like that thread, that just get sabotaged, and usually because of that I avoid them, because you cannot have an intelligent discussion, just many folk ranting one way or another ... Drama Queens in reality.

You can have any opinion you want - just don't conflate that into "then I also want to decide for others". There's a huge difference there.

And why should the filter be harder to pass? And please don't use the fanatical and overused "and think of the children!" statement. One can justify anything with that, just read history. :D

I agree. People should decide for themselves.

Well, they have to follow regional laws, but yeah, cheers to No Censorship!

Thanks a lot for your advice. I'm not really good at using English on forums, and I'm not used to discuss my opinons with others, since I'm an introvert

Oh and about the filter, I prefer if it has age filter (such on Steam) and it based on user's account credentials, not manually done by users. But the existing filter mechanics is still usable for non-users.

Anyways have a nice day ☺️

The same censorship as on Steam version: Children sprite on the game removed (as far as I remember), and some other censors I don't remember.
