It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Randalator: Well, arguably, you could get a refund for your non-working game and give the installer to friends who don't have you technical issues. Or you could get it to work on your next PC.
True, but then a big point is also getting the support from GOG (patches, that they make it work with Windows 10 and 11, etc.). If you were only after the (outdated?) installer, you could get it from some torrent site I think.

Moreover, i am pretty sure there is some kind of limit GOG will allow one person to (mis)use the refund policy. If some person seems to repeatedly demand refunds for technical reasons but doesn't seem too keen to troubleshoot the alleged problems with GOG, most probably GOG will say no to any further purchases for the said individual.

Or that's at least what I would do if I was Mr. GOG.

The whole concept of GOG's DRM-free approach is based on the idea that it's more important to focus on offering the customers a good service than on trying to prevent abuse. DRM-free offers can be abused and will be abused by some people, just like every other product, DRM-free or not. But that's not the point. The point is that a significant number of consumers will be happy to pay for the games, if you treat them fairly and show some goodwill and trust. And money you gain from actual customers (who are happy and loyal on top of it) is more important than investing energy in trying to prevent abuse from people who were never going to make you money anyway, which will alienate your actual customers in the process.

And I'm sure even GOG's goodwill has its limits. Customers who repeatedly return games claiming that they don't work on their system will soon raise suspicion.

IMO they should have a no question asked return policy regardless of whether the game was downloaded or not.

MaximumBunny: To them, they, who are they anyway? They're just beating each other at being each other. With nothin' to say.
To them, we are "they".
