Reminds me that time Oprah was refused by some shopkeeper who thought she couldn't afford the handbags she was looking at. I think it was in Switzerland.
Learned that John McAfee actually sold his company and product in 1996... so he hasn't sold snake oil in decades. And he even detested the product named after him...

Ah, what a prime example of western "inventor". What a loss.

= Full =
My analysis:
- born in poor, not caring family, so no surprises here
- sold newspapers in youth instead of education, means street education: learned that priority is money and fists
- heavy drug user
- woman abuser and sexually driven pervert (scat)
- greed and lust as prime drivers (lowest stages of Maslow (ugly Russian) pyramid)

- communicative: I've personally had people like him as "friends", drugs do unfold the tongue, this isn't his personal quality.
- charismatic: comes from constant drug use
- absolutely no IT knowledge, he didn't write the antivirus: on his youtube channel he shots the computers and portrays his collegue, an IT expert, as moron. Means he started a company by finding right people and pouring his money, because he saw high profits.
- probably heavily CTD infected: increased risks connected with his lifestyle and sexual habbits.

Now, what did he do on his villa? Have this answered:
(1)
- distance himself from civilization,
- migrate to a poor community in order to,
- pay the police to act as own army, and
- pay criminals to act as own army, and
- keep dozen of dogs on streets, and
- shooting a stranger, because he poisoned one of his dogs - a stranger connected with latin mafia, and
- connect with mafia and then easily settle it with money

(2)
And his girlfriend was a PHARMACIST, that is claimed to research into some substance to create antibiotica, but if you connect (this) with (1), you get:

He was producing drugs on that farm and keeping private army to cover it.
But police didn't find anything when it raided him. Because he had connections with police for a long time and was paranoid.

Further:
- Who killed him? A bigger fish.
- Is his death a bad or good thing? A thousand or more people missed the chance to hook on his drugs, which means saved lives. 1 live vs 1,000+ lives. Easy math.

You keep more of such "nice" people around, your society will self-disintegrate without any Chinese help. I don't care further, your decision.

I did, in the astrals.

Interesting choice of words there friend.

That’s a bit unfair, nobody outside Switzerland can afford the handbags! I had to donate an organ for breakfast just the other day!

morolf: You mean anti-virus programmes are a fraud in general?
avatar
toxicTom: The actual devs? No. I think they do the best they can. And it's really an amazing field. After all you have to think like the bad guy to anticipate the moves, it involves AI and machine learning. Fascinating stuff.

But the managers and PR people are snake oil sellers. They sell a false sense of security. Like gun sellers perfectly knowing you'll more likely hurt yourself than warding off any intruders.

The industry finances actual security research, that's the best thing about it. But it mostly sells guns, that are more of a danger to the users than any culprit, that's the problem.
Wait what? Are you saying that viruses and trojans pose no threat to computers? As for guns, if you lived in a violent crime-infested place like Detroit, Chicago, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico etc, then having a gun is almost mandatory for personal security.

What is "the media" here? Plenty of conservative and even far right or libertarian media out there. Also it's just as silly to blindly distrust as it is to blindly trust, and also you're likely trusting someone, just not CNN.

Anyway... guy had issues, but I feel bad for anyone who feels suicidal depression. Hope he found peace.

I visited CERN. Spent a week in Geneva. Found a shop selling soap. About 25 Euros per bar! (To be fair, it did smell nice.)

Crosmando: Wait what? Are you saying that viruses and trojans pose no threat to computers?
No, I did not say that.
I say that the usual AV software

a) creates a false sense of security

b) adds more complexity and often enough is vulnerable itself, and since it needs to work pretty deeply entangled with the OS this opens security holes into the heart of the system

c) is necessarily "out of date" because it takes time to react to new threats and vulnerabilities. Which is a problem because of a). Heuristics and AI aren't in any way perfect, but lead to a lot of over-blocking and false alarms. And annoyed users make bad decisions.

I don't know what his exact role was in creating that original antivirus but before starting his firm he was actually working as programmer for various quite big companies including NASA, Xerox and Lockheed meaning that he certainly had some knowledge back then. Though it was probably vastly outdated in latest years as, since he sold firm, he seemed be mostly interested in other things than actual tech and judging by many rubbish statements he made.

Also, this video is satire if you didn't notice :P

Cadaver747: That salesman is a moron, he should have provide a suitable answer instead. You never know who is the real person in front of you or what other people are his/her close friends / relatives, plus such replies might ruin the reputation of the firm.

No one asked for my opinion but here it is.
Secondly has he never heard of a mid life crisis; could of been a wasted sale.
Even if it was too much then it's a good segway into another vehicle that's more in line with the customers values.
Dude was a salesperson; he literally only had one job an he stuffed it *shakes head.

The cheapest car in the place was probably worth more that my house. This was not an ordinary showroom, nor an ordinary salesman. You also have to take into account the British class system. It used to be a big thing.

His childhood entirely suggests that he isn't that. These are the books, which he published - none of these are scientific research.

His drug consumption suggests his capacity to persuade, but the problem is that what somebody claims - is hot air. It is best used in creating connections in order to glue specialists together, which is what I saw. Earlier he glued an AV company, later - a drug lab.

No, from the video I saw lots of easy woman and "bath salt" as well as theatrical performance. Because he didn't have performance education, he likely behaved like this his entire life.

As I mentioned, I once had similar friend, he had lots of connections, fast tongue, very charismatic, lots of easy women - heavy drug user, nearly died from CTD, still managed to create a family and works in marketing and design AFAIK, earlier worked as an artist. The video isn't a show to me, my friend behaved like this through his entire life, its very hard to understand if its fun or serious, saw same story here.

"Plenty of far right media"... You have lost me here. Judging by how you felt disturbed while reading it, you do very well know which "media" did I refer to. The globalist, mainstream, popular, left media.
is this the "BTC is crap" guy?
